[Also in Division G1] A ferrite magnet A having a large negative temperature coefficient is rendered independent of temperature by increasing its leakage by the use of saturated soft iron polepieces B. The wound armature C is simply for flux-metering purposes in developing the device. Additional flux leakage may be produced by extending the polepieces beyond the magnet, as shown. In addition, a thermally responsive shunt may be used. The device may be applied to holding magnets or tacho-generators.
