Abstract

1,021,245. Hose couplings. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Aug. 31, 1964 [Sept. 4, 1963], No. 35600/64. Heading F2G. In a high-pressure hose coupling for hose of synthetic plastic material and of the kind comprising a steel fitting 3 formed with a nipple 11 for insertion into the end of a hose 5, the latter being secured on the nipple by a clamp sleeve, a self-hardening sealing agent, such as a silicone rubber paste, is applied to the exterior surface of the nipple before the hose end is pushed on to the nipple. As shown the nipple 11 and sleeve 4 are provided with circumferential grooves 16, 13 and the sleeve is radially compressed on to collar 10 of the fitting 3. In a modification, the outer layers 5<SP>11</SP>, 5<SP>111</SP> of the hose are removed and a synthetic plastic bush is disposed between the end wall of the collar 10 and layers 5<SP>11</SP>, 5<SP>111</SP>.
