Abstract

1,009,374. Partitions. SICEDISON S.P.A. May 7, 1962 [May 9, 1961], No. 17444/62. Heading E1V A partition wall comprises uprights 4, Fig. 22, of synthetic plastics material which are secured in position by plug members I, Fig. 17 fixed to the floor and ceiling, parallel ribs 9 being formed on the uprights in order to locate panels 10 with vertical section members 13 of synthetic plastics material disposed therebetween, the uprights 4 being connected by horizontal section members 14, Fig. 21, and 6, Figs. 18, of synthetic plastics material, engaging horizontal edges of the panels and at least one strip section 16, see Fig. 22 being provided, having a fin snapped into a longitudinal interstice between two component parts of the partition wall. The members 14 are secured to the uprights 4 by plugs 17, Fig. 14 attached to the uprights. The member 6, which comprises a socle is mounted on a rail 5 secured to the floor between the plug members securing the uprights to the floor. The upper edge of the socle 6 has a rib 8 which engages a slot in a panel 10. The vertically arranged members 13 are slotted to engage the rib 8 on the socle 6 and are secured at their upper ends to upper members 14 by plugs 15, Fig. 15, secured to the members 14. The vertical members 14<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 22 are secured by plugs attached to the floor and ceilings. The members 14 are slotted to receive various retaining and cover strips 19, 21, Figs. 21, 22. The panels may be glazed as shown in Fig. 21. The panels may comprise expanded polystyrene or polyvinylchloride. A flexibel skirting moulding 24, Fig. 18 is engaged with a flange 25 on the socle 6.
