Abstract

Compositions used in the examples comprise: (10) zinc stearate, paraffin and finely divided silicic acid; (11) ozokerite and lead stearate; (12) paraffin and stearic acid monoethanolamide; and (13) oxokerite, lead stearate and stearic acid monoethanolamide. Specification 644,142 is referred to.ALSO:Compositions used in the examples comprise: (1) polystyrene, stearin, carbon black and trichlorethylene; (2) polyvinyl acetate, montan wax, graphite and toluene; (3) ethylcellulose, graphite, acetone and water; (4) ethylcellulose, graphite, kaolin, acetone and water; (5) ethylcellulose, graphite, titanium white, acetone and water; (6) ethylcellulose, graphite, finely divided silicic acid, acetone and water; (7) after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, carbon black, kaolin, methylene chloride and benzine boiling between 90 DEG and 120 DEG C.; (8) ethylcellulose, "Litholrot," kaolin, acetone and water; and (9) after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, graphite, prepared chalk, kaolin, methylene chloride and benzine boiling between 90 DEG and 120 DEG C. Specification 644,142 is referred to.ALSO:Copying material in sheet form comprises a supporting sheet, e.g. of paper, having on its rear surface a coating layer of colour-yielding material which comprises one or more colour figments, e.g. carbon black or graphite, and a film-forming substance in loosened condition binding the figments to the sheets, and on the front surface of the sheet a coating layer of colour-receiving material comprising a wax or waxy substance or a resin, e.g. oyokerite, stearin, paraffin, or stearic acid monoethanolanide. The term "loosened condition" signifies that the film-formin substance is in the form of a sponge. This result can be obtained by mixing the film-forming substance with a wax or waxy substance, e.g. mortan, cananba, candelilla or cynthetic wax, stearin or cetyl alcohol, or by depositing it from solution in a mixture of a solvent and a non-solvent, e.g. acetone and water, the solvent being more volatile than the non-solvent, or by depositing it from solution in the precence of a non-solvent, e.g. by adding the vapour of the non-solvent to air used to evaporate the solvent. The film-forming substance may be polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate, after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride or ethylcellulose. The colour-yielding layer may contain a second figment, which contracts in colour with the first, e.g. kaolin, chalk, finely divided silica, titanium oxide or zinc oxide. The colour-receiving layer may contain a metal soap which acts as a siccative, e.g. zinc or bad stearate, or a wetting agent, e.g. an alkylaryl sulphorate, a fatty alcohol sulphonate, or a polyglycol or ether or ester thereof, or a pigment, e.g. finely divided silica. The colour-yielding layer does not copy on to normal paper, but does copy onto the receiving layer of the invention. This layer will also accept normal writing, typing or printing. Copies can therefore be made by superforcing sheets of the invention with the colour-yielding layer of each sheet towards the receiving layer of the next, and writing or typing upon the topmost sheet. Specification 644,142 is referred to.
