Abstract

The invention relates to a device for vacuuming and filtering the bad odors of a litter produced by the excrement of an animal avoiding the spread of these in the house. It consists of a first housing (1) in which there are two compartments (2, 3) into which is introduced into the first (3) a fan (4) which sucks unpleasant odors excrement and clean air to direct them in the second compartment (2) where there is activated carbon granules (5) which filters the bad smells. Once filtered, the remaining odors pass through a pipe (6) which opens onto a second housing (7) and which arrive in the compartment (8) in which it finds an active carbon filter (9) where they are filtered thanks to this one. Once filtered, the air returns to the litter. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for individuals with a litter box. It can also be mounted in series during the manufacture of the litter at the factory.

Description

The present invention consists in sucking and filtering the bad smells of a litter produced by the excrements of an animal to avoid the propagation of these in the house.

Cat litter trays are traditionally designed without effective filtration which is annoying when the animal does it is necessary. The smell of his excrement spreads throughout the

5. room and disturbs considerably.

The device according to the invention overcomes this drawback. According to a first characteristic, it in fact comprises a box in which this finds a twelve-volt fan which sucks out bad odors by directing them into a compartment in which this finds activated carbon in granules. At the exit of this compartment, the remaining odors are directed into a pipe which goes back into the litter and where there is at its exit a second housing equipped with an activated carbon filter.

According to particular embodiments:

- the mesh is not too small to filter well and not too large not to pass through the granular activated carbon and that it is secured to the housing.

- the first compartment of the housing has four edges, one at each corner to allow the fan to be fixed.

- the second housing has four flanges, one at each corner to allow the attachment of the activated carbon filter.

- the two boxes are connected with a flexible hose long enough to allow adaptation to the largest number of litter box models possible.

Figure 1 shows in section, the device of the invention.

Figure 2 shows an overview, the location of the device on the litter, the role and the path taken by the clean air (16), the dirty air (15) and the filtered air (17).

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a first box (1) which is fixed above the litter box (14) on the entry side, in this box there are two compartments (2,3) in which we introduce in the first (3) a fan (4) with a voltage of twelve volts maximum, powered by a USB cable that can connect to any USB port or a sector with an input voltage of two hundred twenty volts AC and a maximum output voltage of twelve volts DC. This fan sucks off bad odors (15) from excrement and clean air (16) to direct them into the second compartment (2) where there is activated charcoal in granules (5) which filters bad odors (15). Once filtered, the remaining odors pass through a pipe (6) which leads to a second housing (7) which is fixed above the litter box (14) on the rear side. The remaining odors arrive in the compartment (8) in which this finds an activated carbon filter (9) where they

-2 are filtered thanks to this one. Once filtered, the air (17) leaves again in the litter thus allowing to renew the air inside and to be sucked in again by the fan (4) which constitutes a closed circuit.

The device thus written allows the smell of excrement (15) not to come out of the litter box (14) and preventing it from spreading throughout the room of the house. Also avoiding the unpleasant smell when coming home from work in the evening.

According to a variant not illustrated, it is possible to integrate into the device a switch to cut the power supply and a voltage variator making it possible to control the speed of rotation of the fan (4) and thus play on the suction flow rate of the latter.

The device according to the invention is particularly intended for individuals having a litter box. It can also be fitted in series when the bedding is manufactured in the factory.

Claims (5)

CLAIM 1) The device for sucking in and filtering bad odors from a litter produced by the excrement of an animal, characterized in that it comprises a first housing (1) in which this finds two compartments (2,3) in which introduced into the first (3) a fan (4) and into the second (2) granular activated carbon (5) followed by a pipe on connection elbow (6) which goes to a second housing (7) provided with a compartment (8) where this finds an activated carbon filter (9). 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the mesh (10) is not too small to filter well and not too large to not pass through the granular activated carbon (5) and that it is integral with the housing (1). 3) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the first compartment (3) of the housing (1) has four flanges (11) one at each corner to allow the fixing of the fan (4). 4) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the second housing (7) has four flanges (12) one at each corner to allow the attachment of the activated carbon filter (9) in the compartment (8). 5) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the two boxes (1,7) are connected with a flexible pipe (6) long enough to allow to adapt to as many models of litter box as possible.
