Abstract

Insecticidal compsn. contains boric acid, or one of its salts, esp. the acid itself. The compsn. can also contain an excipient, such as milk or sugar, partic. sweetened condensed milk, which is ingestible by insects. Pref. compsns. contain 1-90 wt.% active material and may contain e.g. preservatives, dyes and attractants. The compsns. are partic. useful for control of cockroaches, esp. in ships' holds and warehouses. They have low toxicity towards humans and warm-blooded animals. Pasty formulations are pref. used, since these can be applied in only one place to which the insects with come.
