Abstract

New N-acyl-aniline derivs. are cpds. of formula (I): R1 is 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen, R2 is H, 1-3C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen, R3 is H, 1-3C alkyl or halogen and R4 is H or CH3, the total number of C-atoms in R1, R2, R3 and R4 being is not >8; X is -CH2- or -C(CH3)-; R5 is -COOCH3, -COOC2H5 or -CH2OCH3; R6 is H or -CHR8R9; and R7 is 1-4C alkyl, R8 and R9 are H, halogen or 1-4C alkyl, or R7 + R8 is 2-3 C alkylene. (I) are microbicides with a spectrum of activity particularly suitable for the protection of crop plants. In particular, they are useful as fungicides against phytopathogenic fungi. They have systemic activity, and are also suitable for applicn. as dressings to seed or cuttings.
