Abstract

The high heel (1) for ladies shoes has a tubular metal insert (3). This extends through at least the narrow part of the heel (2) and the moulding material, forming the heel, is bonded around it. The insert is D-shaped and a complementary shaped stud (6) on the heel tip (5) fits into it to prevent the tip rotating. One side of the top of the insert (7) is turned in and the other is widened (8) to form a collar, preventing the insert breaking through the heel.
