Abstract

The machine extrudes several adjacent lines of inverted 'T' section beams on a pretensioning bed, producing a longitudinally castellated profile to the top edge of each beam. The drawing plates or forms (2) are each open at the bottom with a width equal to that of the beam soffite, and locate the castellating gear towards the aft. A vertically reciprocating jack (9) may be synchronised with longitudinal machine movement, displacing a horizontal beam (6) which is guided by vertical round section bars (7) through appropriate bores. The beam spans (6) the full machine width and locates a longitudinally stepped block (11a, 11b) ober each beam.
