derivs. of formula (I) are new: In (I) (i) A is -CH2CHOHCH2-; in which case R is acetyl R1 is H and R2 is 2-CH3, 2-F, 2-OCH3, or R1=R2=CH3; or R is acetamido, R1 is H, R2 is H, 4-F or 2-OCH3; or R = N-methyl carbomoylamino; R1 is H, R2 is 2-CH3, or (ii) A is ethylene; R = acetamido, R1 is H, R2 is 2-OCH3, or (iii) A is -CH2CH2CH2-R is acetyl, R1 is H, R2 is H or 2-CH3; or R is 1-hydroxyethyl, R1 is H, R2 is H or 2-CH3, or R = N-methylcarbamoylamino, R1 is H, R2 is CH3. (I) and antihypertensives, and some cpds. are peripheral vasodilators.
