Abstract

Claimed catalyst comprises an alumina support and, based on the wt. of the support, 0.05-0.6 (pref. 0.1-0.5) wt.% of a Pt-gp. metal, 0.005-5 (pref. 0.03-3) wt.% of Sb, 0.005-5 (pref. 0.05-3) wt.% of Ti, Hf or Zr, and 0.1-10 wt.% halogen. The catalyst can be used for reforming naphtha fractions to produce high octane gasoline or for atomizing pyrolysis gasoline, catalytic reformates or naphthenes to produce BTX products. When used in mobile-bed reaction systems (esp. using >=2 reactors in series), the catalysts have higher activity and esp. a longer life than prior art catalysts.
