Abstract

The moulded plastic stopper has a top (1) and central cylindrical portion (2) which fits inside the bottle neck. The outside of the stopper has an internal thread (4) fitting the threads on the bottle neck. The base of the stopper skirt (7) is fitted with a collar (9) which is joined to the stopper by the tabs (8) located at equal intervals along the edge of the stopper. The collar is torn off when the bottle is opened for the first time and prevents the contents of the bottle from being tampered with after sealing.
