Abstract

The method of supporting a pane of glass (1) forming part of a piece of furniture utilises a rectangular slot (2) cut in the edge of the glass. A clip (3) with a flat base (3.0) and two parallel walls (3.1, 3.2) has lips (3.12, 3.13) which fit over the edges of the slot. The clip is secured in the slot with a suitable adhesive. Two longitudinal ridges (3.4, 3.5) form the lower edges of grooves to receive small metal plates provided with holes for fixing screws. The clips can be used for the attachment of hinges for glass doors or for supporting mirrors. The clips facilitate the dismantling and packing of furniture for transport.
