Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour préparer des granulés qui sont destinés à être administrés par voie orale à des ruminants. Ce procédé consiste à mélanger une substance active assimilable par les ruminants, par exemple un aliment ou une substance thérapeutique, puis à mettre cette substance sous forme de granulés ; la substance active est neutralisée soit avant, soit apres la granulation, de manière à ce que la valeur de son pH soit supérieure à 5,5. Enfin, les granulés sont enrobés d'une substance hydrophobe. De tels granulés, absorbés par les ruminants résistent aux sécrétions de la panse et ils ne sont dégradés que dans la caillette où la substance active est alors assimilée.The invention relates to a process for preparing granules which are intended for oral administration to ruminants. This process consists in mixing an active substance which can be assimilated by ruminants, for example a food or a therapeutic substance, then in putting this substance in the form of granules; the active substance is neutralized either before or after granulation, so that the value of its pH is greater than 5.5. Finally, the granules are coated with a hydrophobic substance. Such granules, absorbed by ruminants resist secretions from the rumen and they are only degraded in the abomasum where the active substance is then assimilated.
