Abstract
The spring bearing is for a rotary component, having a cladding portion fixed to a rigid support. The cladding contains a body of elastic material (54) containing fibres (56) of material having high heat conductivity and a lower coefficient of expansion than the elastic material. Some at least of the fibres are at right angles to the adjacent cladding surface. The elastic material can be elastomer, and the fibres can be carbon fibre, adhering to the elastic material. The cladding can also have a rigid layer fixed to the elastic material so as to be clear of the support, part of the elastic material being in between.
