Abstract

To represent the direction between two selectable locations which can be specified on a ring plate (14), a compass needle (12) is provided. The ring plate is rotatably supported. A line plate (13) is provided with an arrow (19'). To find the required direction, the ring plate must be rotated until one location is located in the north direction and then the arrow (19') must be rotated to the location in the direction of which the direction is required. In the southern hemisphere, the direction must be corrected by 90 DEG in accordance with the cross-hairs (10).
