Abstract
The method of digital signal transmission uses phase modulation of a carrier wave. The digital signal is split up into a series of q binary elements. These correspond to each of n = 2q levels which can be taken by a series of q elements with state of phase xi of a carrier wave. The n state of phase x1......xn are chosen with respective appearance probabilities of P1....Pn for at least one of the sums (between i = 1 and i = n) Pi cos xi and Pisinxi not equal to zero. When all the probabilities P1....Pn are equal x1 and xn are separated by 4 (pi)/(n+1), and xi and xi+1 are separated by 2(pi)/(n+1).
