Abstract

The relay sensitivity ensures a low energy consumption. The relay consists of a stationary, U-shaped yoke and an armature, swinging between two end positions, these elements forming a magnetic circuit. A spring (2) tends to pull the armature from the yoke. The attraction force is generated in a coil (6), mounted on the yoke (1) through which flows direct current. The attraction force is generated against the force of the spring. Pref. a second coil (5) is mounted on the yoke, which reduces the magnetic flux, at least for a short period, under the control of a supplied switching pulse. A switching pulse may be also supplied to the first coil in the opposite direction to the direct current flow.
