Abstract

The fastener consists of a spring nut (1) with an elastic casing (3) and a sealing lip (4). The elastic casing has a spreader insert (2) projecting from it through the opening (8) in the bearing plate (6). The spring nut has four evenly distributed teeth (10) projecting radially inwards to grip the rod (76) which passes through the nut centre. The outer end of this unthreaded rod is fixed to the outer cap (5), the lower circular edge of which rests on the bearing plate (5). The spreader nut is forced through the opening, and its radial enlargement prevents the cap and rod from being drawn back out of the bore.
