Abstract

The double glazing border is a vinyl plastic moulding (28) of a channel shape. The base (30) has extending flanges (36, 38) whose inner faces seal onto the faces of the glass panes (22, 24). An intermediate soft plastic spacer (44, 46) gives weather and sound sealing. Projections from the inner faces of the flanges (50, 52) provide a butt joint against the edges of the panes. A spacer (26) separates the panes and contains a drying agent for the air gap. The wooden frame members (20) have an outwardly projecting mortice (70) with recesses to accommodate metal spring clips (58). The clips engage on a projecting lip (56) of the moulding and secure it to the frame.
