Abstract

The incinerator consists of a vertical cylinder (2) which receives the combustion air at the base. The air is supplied by blowers (24) through ducting and damper control valves. The air is blown upwards through the cylinder to meet the combustibles which are fed from a hopper (11) supplied with shut off valves to control the flow. The combustibles are burnt in the area (4) supported by the upwards air flow. The coil (5) is an economiser and supplies hot water for outside uses. The flue gases are taken away to a scrubber section (19) where the turbine (15) blows the gases over water. A chimney damper (20) controls the outlet smoke.
