Abstract

It is known to make cleaning compositions in tablet form opaque by adding zinc oxide. If such tablets contain free long-chain fatty acids with 8 to 22 carbon atoms, they display a sandy feel on use. This can be avoided by suspending the zinc oxide in a liquid medium, mixing the suspension with a surfactant material in a mixing stage, and finally milling the cleaning composition and compressing to tablets.
