Abstract

The paint consists of the binder, admixed with the usual solvents, comprising a polyurethane drying resin derived from isophorome diisocyanate, zinc chromate and calcium carbonate pigments, stabilisers comprising >=1 quat. ammonium deriv. and colloidal silicas, and driers (metal derivs.) The binder represents 27-37 wt. % of the paint and contains about 30% isophorone diisocyanate. The paint may be sprayed onto the surface and after 1 1/2-2 1/2 hrs. retains no dust (moist 500 mu thick film) and can be handled after 4-7 hrs.
