Abstract

Stress corrosion-resistant Al-Zn-Mg sheet metal with 3-6% Zn, 0.4-3% Mg, 0.1-0.6% Mn, 0.05-0.2% Cr, 0.2% Cu, Bal. Al, and pref. 0.01-0.3% Zr, is produced by solution annealing sheets after rolling for 10 min. max., advantageously 10 sec. to 3 mins., at 350-520 degrees C, cooling and age-hardening.
