Abstract
A plant Fig. 1, for pulverizing and drying rough quarried products, particularly in the manufacture of cement, using hot gases from a kiln used to process the pulverized materials comprises a stone-breaker, e.g. a hammer mill 3, a centrifugal dynamic separator 9 which supplies granular material to a crusher, e.g. a ball mill 13 and filtering and separating equipment to separate pulverized material contained in a gas flow from the dynamic separator. This flow is produced by a fan 15. Gas is supplied via ducts 17, 21, 19 to the stone-breaker, the dynamic separator and the crusher in parallel, and from the stone-breaker and crusher to the dynamic separator via a duct 22. A single gas flow charged with pulverized materials is fed along a duct from the dynamic separator at 23 to the filtering and separating equipment. This comprises a precipitation tower 24, having a water atomiser, and an electrostatic filter 25. Fine materials are extracted and discharged via a conveyor 26. A fan 29, a duct 30 and a flow regulator 31 permit a variable proportion of the gas flow leaving the electrostatic filter 25 to be recycled to the dynamic separator 9. The temperature of the gas mixture and pulverized material is monitored by a thermal pick up, the signal controlling either an auxiliary heater 16 or the water supply to the mill 3 or the precipitation tower 24. The dynamic separator, Fig. 2, has a rotor 42 with a section 46 serving as a turbo-centrifuge, and a drying column 52 with a slatted grill 55. Material is introduced via a duct 41 and the heaviest components are hurled against the walls. Two gas flows (at 48 and 54) carry material upwards, and out via ducts 56, while the denser and now dry material falls into the duct 53.
