Improvements introduced in the object of the main patent No. 292,984, granted on November 2, 1963, by: "Procedure for the purification of aqueous aluminum sulphate" containing as impurities iron, chromium and at least one of the titanium and metal zirconium, characterized in that they comprise: (1) The addition of an oxidizing agent to aqueous and impure aluminum sulfate: (2) mixing aqueous aluminum sulfate with an insoluble amine in water, anion exchanger, to extract said impurities from sulfate of aqueous aluminum; (3) separating and recovering the purified aqueous aluminum sulfate; (4) reactivating the anion exchange amine, which contains the impurities extracted from the aqueous aluminum sulfate, by intimate contact with an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid of a concentration of at least 6%, to remove impurities from the exchange amine anions; (5) treating the resulting reactive amine, anion exchanger, to reduce the sulfate content to 25% or less, based on the weight of anion exchange amine; and (6) recycling the activated amine thus treated, anion exchanger to step (2), in step (1) the impure aqueous aluminum sulfate is oxidized by chlorine to convert the Fe2 ÷ and the Cr3 ÷ in Fe3 ÷ and Cr6 ÷ respectively.
