Abstract

Building units are made by stacking and bonding together bricks 5 using a stand having at least one bearing surface 1 inclined to the vertical and provided with a supporting part 2 projecting at right angles. More particularly, cavity bricks having apertures and interlocking formations may be bonded together with concrete in units having horizontal and vertical iron reinforcements and a complete or partial filling of concrete. The units may also comprise two layers of cavity bricks with an intermediate insulating layer. Various stands are described, being of wood or metal with the bearing surface 1 plane or angular, continuous or perforated. The stands may be adjustable for inclination to the vertical, may be moved on rails, or may be provided with a mobile scaffolding and gantry. Using the mobile stands the units may be passed through a tunnel drier to accelerate the setting process.
