Abstract
A gas-electric discharge device comprising a hermetically sealed envelope of insulating refractory material, a pair of tungsten electrodes that are inserted into said envelope, an ionizable means in said envelope including means for providing iodine vapor when said device operates, said electrodes being correlated in heat dissipating capacity with the energy charge of said device, to thus operate with molten tips and the iodine vapor serving to regenerate in the electrodes the metal lost by them.
