Abstract

The improvements allow rapid assembly and dismantling of the unit and envisage optional utilisation of a conventional screw 8 and a double-clip piece 9 for the retention of the airbag module via its lower metal plate 7 carrying a contact of the horn, it being possible for this first contact to be arranged on a piece 23 secured to an additional plate 22, and it being possible for the other contact of the horn to consist of a second metal plate 13 supported by the same double-clip piece 9 or by an elevation of a metal part of the structure of the steering wheel. The screw may be replaced according to the invention by a tab 16 with a hooked end which retains a portion obtained from the same lower metal plate 7 of the airbag module with the assistance of a torsion spring. The aforesaid double-clip piece 9 may be anchored at the bottom on a metallic part of the steering wheel or on the foam covering its structure.
