Abstract

In a neutron bombardment analytical process, for measuring the amount of one or more selected elements in a bulk material flow, the neutron source comprises at least one neutron generator tube (7) which is controlled in a periodic intermittent manner to produce phases of neturon emission in the form of pulses. In the time intervals after the pulses, the gamma radiations of capture and of activation of the elements are detected to establish a first spectrum and, in at least one other time interval, only the gamma radiations of activation of the elements are detected separately to establish a second spectrum. The respestive values of the gamma radiations detected in the corresponding energy bands of the first and second spectra are then combined to give an indication of a spectrum contg. only the gamma radiators of capture.
