Zudem wird durch das nachgiebige Material ein Gleiten eines gegriffenen Buches 70 zwischen den Greifarmen 52,53 oder aus den Greifarmen 52,53 heraus erschwert bzw. verhindert, da eine Reibungskraft zwischen den Kontaktbereichen 54,55 aus dem nachgiebigen Material und dem Buch 70 wirkt. Die beiden Greifarme 52,53 sind im Wesentlichen parallel zueinander angeordnet, ebenso wie die beiden Kontaktbereiche 54,55. Fig. 3 zeigt eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung wenigstens eines Schnittvorganges 10, in der ein Buch 70 auf dem unteren Aufnahmeelement 12 aufliegt und der Rücken 74 formschlüssig am Stützelement 32 anliegt. In dieser Position ist das Buch 70 mittels der Greifvorrichtung 50 gegriffen. Dazu sind die Greifarme 52,53, insbesondere die Kontaktbereiche 54,55, an das Buch 70 im Bereich der Deckel 72 angelegt. Der obere Greifarm 52 liegt mit dem oberen Kontaktbereich 54 an dem Deckel 72 an, der sich gegenüber dem unteren Aufnahmeelement 12 befindet. Der untere Greifarm 53, genauer gesagt der untere Kontaktbereich 55, liegt an dem Deckel 72 an, mit dem das Buch 70 auf dem unteren Aufnahmeelement 12 liegt. Damit der untere Kontaktbereich 55 derart an das Buch 70 angelegt werden kann, ist zumindest ein Bereich der Greifvorrichtung 50 innerhalb des Leerraumes 40 und des Zwischenraumes 36 positioniert; insbesondere ein Bereich des unteren Greifarmes 53. Dazu wurde der besagte Bereich durch den Zwischenraum 36 in den Leerraum 40 bewegt sowie in Richtung des Buchdeckels 72. Die Greifvorrichtung 50 ist so angeordnet und eingerichtet, dass Bereiche der Greifvorrichtung 50 durch die Aussparung 84 der Einführrampe 80 bewegt werden können, ohne mit der schrägen Ebene 82 zu kollidieren.In Fig. 3 a section of the device for performing at least one cutting operation 10, which comprises a gripping device 50, is shown in perspective, partially cut open. The upper gripping arm 52 rests with the upper contact area 54 on the cover 72, which is located opposite the lower receiving element 12. The lower gripping arm 53, more precisely the lower contact area 55, rests against the cover 72 with which the book 70 rests on the lower receiving element 12. So that the lower contact area 55 can be applied to the book 70 in this way, at least one area of the gripping device 50 is positioned within the empty space 40 and the intermediate space 36; in particular an area of the lower gripping arm 53. For this purpose, said area was moved through the gap 36 into the empty space 40 and in the direction of the book cover 72 can be moved without colliding with the inclined plane 82.

Der Schubstein 66 weist eine schräge Ebene auf, mit der er an einer komplementären schrägen Ebene der Hubvorrichtung 60 anliegt. Wird der Schubstein 66 verschoben, realisiert er eine Keilwirkung. So wird eine Höhenverschiebung der Teile der Hubvorrichtung 60 bewirkt. Hubplatte 68, Schenkel 62 und Schiene 63 werden senkrecht nach oben bewegt. Die Schraubenzugfeder 64 wird gedehnt. Im Zuge des Greifvorganges wurde die Greifvorrichtung 50 derart bewegt, dass ein Gleitbereich 56 innerhalb der Schiene 63 positioniert ist. Durch diese Positionierung wird eine zusätzliche Stabilität erreicht. Ebenfalls erfindungsgemäß sind Ausführungsformen, in denen ein solcher Gleitbereich 56 nicht eingerichtet ist oder dieser nicht in die Schiene 66 eingeführt wird und Bereiche der Greifvorrichtung 50 oberhalb der Hubplatte 58 positioniert werden. Gemäß der Erfindung soll mithilfe der Hubvorrichtung 60 eine Höhenverschiebung eines Bereiches der Greifvorrichtung 50 vermittelt werden, insbesondere einem Bereich der Greifvorrichtung, der Teile der Greifarme 52,53 umfasst. Durch die Höhenverschiebung der Hubvorrichtung 60 legt sich die Hubplatte 68 bzw. die Schiene 66 zunächst an die entsprechenden Bereiche der Greifvorrichtung 50 an und drückt diese im Weiteren nach oben. Derart hat eine Höhenverschiebung der Hubvorrichtung 60 eine Höhenverschiebung zumindest von Teilen der Greifvorrichtung 50 zur Folge. Insbesondere werden so die Greifarme 52,53 und das gegriffene Buch 70 angehoben. Vorteilhaft wird der Schubstein 66 so weit bewegt, dass die Greifarme 52,53 derart senkrecht nach oben verschoben werden, dass in einem nächsten Schritt das Buch 70 über die Kante 34 hinweg bewegt werden kann, ohne mit der Stützvorrichtung 30 zu kollidieren.If the book 70 is to be lifted in a next work step so that it no longer rests on the lower receiving element 12, this is implemented with the aid of the lifting device 60. Claims (13)

  1. A device for performing at least one cutting process (10) for the purpose of producing a book (70), a brochure or the like, in particular a book-like identification document such as a passport, which comprises book pages which are bound to a spine (74), wherein the device has a receiving element (12) for receiving a book (70) on a first plane as well as a cutting element for applying a cutting force to the book (70) on a second plane which is substantially perpendicular to the first plane, wherein the device (10) further has at least one support device (30) mechanically securely fixed to the receiving element (12), at which support device at least one region of the spine (74) is arrangeable and with which at least one region of the spine (74) is supportable with a supporting force substantially opposing the cutting force when the cutting force acts on the book (70),
    characterized in that
    the support device (30) has a concavely arched region at which the spine (74) is placeable in a form-fitting manner
    and in that the device further has at least one gripping device (50) which comprises at least two gripping arms (52, 53) with which the book (70) is mechanically grippable.
  2. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to Claim 1, characterized in that the support device (30) has at least two support elements (32) which are spaced apart from each other, between which support elements an interspace (36) is formed through which access to at least a part of the spine (74) is possible when the book (70) is positioned in or at the receiving element (12).
  3. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to any one of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the support device (30) is adapted and arranged such that it lies flush with or has a minimal distance from the second plane on which the cutting force is applied to the book (70), wherein the distance is at most 1 mm, in particular at most 0.5 mm.
  4. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the support device (30) is delimited by an edge (34) or a boundary plane at the side facing away from the first plane, wherein the edge (34) or the boundary plane has a distance of at least 3 mm from the first plane.
  5. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that at least part of a gripping device (50) is arranged or arrangeable within the interspace (36) formed between the support elements (32).
  6. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the gripping device (50) is displaceable such that, opposing the direction of action of the cutting force, at least a distance corresponding to the distance of the edge (34) or the boundary plane of the support device (30) from the first plane is able to be overcome, so that at least part of a gripping arm (53) is at least movable such that a contact region (55) of the gripping arm (53) with which the gripping arm (53) is placeable against the book (70) is at least on one plane with the edge (34) or that there is a larger distance between the contact region (55) and the first plane than between the edge (34) or the boundary plane of the support device (30) and the first plane.
  7. The device for performing at least one cutting process (10) according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the gripping device (50) is pneumatically driven or drivable.
  8. A method for performing at least one cutting process for the purpose of producing a book (70), a brochure or the like, in particular a book-like identification document such as a passport, which comprises book pages which are bound to a spine (74), wherein
    - a device according to at least one of Claims 1 to 7 (10) is provided,
    - a book (70) is supplied to the device,
    - the book (70) is received in or on the receiving element (12),
    - the book (70) is placed with its spine (74) at or in the support device (30),
    - the book (70) is tensioned in or on the receiving element (12),
    - a cutting force of which at least one component is perpendicular to the plane of the receiving element (12) is applied to the book (70), wherein the support device (30) applies a supporting force to at least a region of the spine (74) against the direction of action of the cutting force.
  9. The method according to Claim 8, characterized in that the book (70) is gripped by means of the gripping arms (52, 53) such that, upon a movement of the gripping arms (52, 53), the book (70) is moved correspondingly.
  10. The method according to Claim 9, characterized in that, after performing a cutting process, the tensioning of the book (70) is stopped and the gripping arms (52, 53) with the book (70) are moved in a direction opposing the direction of action of the cutting force such that the book (70) is moved out of the first plane.
  11. The method according to Claim 10, characterized in that the gripping arms (52, 53) are moved in a direction opposing the direction of action of the cutting force by at least 3 mm such that the book (70) is moved out of the first plane.
  12. The method according to Claims 10 and 11, characterized in that at least the gripping arms (52, 53) are further moved such that the book (70) gripped with the gripping arms (52, 53) is moved out of the projection region of the receiving element (12) and the support device (30).
  13. The method for performing at least one cutting process according to any one of Claims 8 to 12, characterized in that the cutting process is realized by a translational movement of a cutting element designed as a blade or by a rotational movement of a cutting element designed as a mill.
