The suction nozzle on which the invention is based comprises a suction head, a suction pipe connection piece which is pivotably connected to a suction channel of the suction head about a pivot axis, a sliding sole which has at least one suction mouth delimited on the underside by suction mouth edges, at least one load-bearing sealing element which is fastened to a vertically adjustable support is, and a switching element accessible on the suction head for vertical adjustment of the carrier between at least two functional positions. In a first functional position for vacuuming a textile floor surface, the load-bearing sealing element is raised so far that the sliding sole rests on the textile floor surface. In a second functional position for cleaning hard floors, the load-bearing sealing element is lowered and supports the suction head on the hard floor surface, so that a gap is established between the edges of the suction mouth and the hard floor surface. The suction channel can be connected to the suction head in a fixed manner or pivotably about a tilt axis.

A suction nozzle for vacuum cleaner with the features described is for example DE 100 00 504 C2 known. The known suction nozzle can be used universally on hard floors and textile floor surfaces and additionally has a polishing plate with a soft covering. To process smooth floors, the polishing plate is in a polishing position by means of a separate adjustment stroke extendable. In the polishing position, only the polishing plate rests on the hard floor to be cleaned and the suction nozzle is supported on the floor side by means of the polishing plate. A roller, which is provided at the rear end of the suction pipe connection piece and supports the suction nozzle when vacuuming textile floor surfaces and when vacuuming hard floors, no longer comes into contact with the floor when the polishing plate is extended into the polishing position.

The DE 202 00 871 U1 also relates to a suction nozzle for vacuum cleaner with the features described above. The suction nozzle has an additional and separately switchable assembly with a vertically adjustable functional element. The functional element is equipped with a floor covering that is matched to an additional function, which can consist, for example, of angled velor to improve fiber absorption, soft bristles to freshen up carpets, a polishing felt to polish smooth floors or hard bristles to remove stuck dirt.

One out DE 10 2008 012 889 B4 Known suction nozzle for vacuum cleaner has in addition to the features described above, a separately switchable additional device for vacuuming coarse dirt. By means of this additional device, a floor clearance of more than 2 mm can be set between the floor surface to be cleaned and a front strip which has already been extended for vacuuming smooth floors. The suction head has support rollers in the area of the sliding sole, for example, which can be adjusted vertically. By extending the support rollers, the suction head can be raised to a higher level, so that there is such a large distance between the extended front strip and the floor surface that coarse dirt can be run over when the suction nozzle moves forward and gets under the suction head, where it comes from Air flow is detected and transported away through the suction channel.

One out US 3,821,831 Known suction nozzle has a carrier equipped with two sealing elements, which is vertically adjustable between three functional positions. Two functional positions are intended for vacuuming deep-pile and low-pile carpets. In a third functional position, the suction head can be used on hard floor surfaces, a distinction not being made between tiled hard floor surfaces and smooth, non-jointed hard floor surfaces.
Another suction nozzle for cylinder vacuum cleaners, whose sealing elements can be adjusted vertically in several functional positions, is out US 4,638,526 known. The well-known suction nozzle can be used universally on textile coverings and hard floors. Different functional positions of the carrier are provided for use on hard floors in order to be able to optimally pick up finely divided dirt particles and coarse / fibrous dirt particles. Furthermore, the sliding resistance on hard floor surfaces should be changeable.

A vacuum cleaner nozzle according to the above concept of claim 1 is from EP 0 158 145 A1 known.

A suction nozzle with the features described above can be used universally on hard floors and textile floor surfaces. However, a good cleaning result on different floor surfaces presupposes that a high flow velocity of the sucked-in air occurs at the suction mouth edges. This condition can be easily met if the suction nozzle is operated together with a powerful suction device, which has a suction fan with an electrical power consumption of more than 1000 watts. If a suction device with a less powerful suction fan is used, this can lead to a significant deterioration in the suction properties of the nozzle. The deterioration is particularly pronounced the suction properties on hard floors when the suction nozzle is used in conjunction with a low-performance suction device for both vacuuming smooth floor surfaces and vacuuming tiled floor surfaces. Tiled floor surfaces are understood to mean hard floors that are penetrated by joints.

Against this background, the invention has for its object to provide a suction nozzle for canister vacuum cleaners which can be used universally both on textile floor surfaces and on hard floors and which, when operated with a suction device which has a suction fan with an electrical power consumption of less than 900 watts, is jointed or uneven hard floors as well as on smooth hard floor surfaces has good suction properties and absorbs dry, finely divided dirt particles well.

The object of the invention and solution to this problem is the use of a suction nozzle which can be connected to a vacuum cleaner according to claim 1.

The invention relates to a suction nozzle for vacuum cleaner with the features described above. The suction nozzle has at least one load-bearing sealing element which is fastened to a vertically adjustable support. In the functional position for cleaning hard floors, the load-bearing sealing element is lowered and supports the suction head on the hard floor surface, so that there is a gap between the suction mouth edges of the hard floor surface. According to the invention, the gap between the suction mouth edges and the hard floor surface is adjustable between two preset values which are defined differently for a tiled floor surface and for a non-jointed smooth floor surface. The default values are adapted to different types of hard floor surfaces. It is important to ensure that there is a high flow velocity at the suction mouth edges for each floor type. at The joints form recesses on a tiled floor surface, so that the distance to the edge of the suction mouth is greater than the distance between the edge of the suction mouth and the tile surface. This reduces the flow velocity of the incoming air at the edge of the suction mouth in the area of a joint. In order to be able to guarantee the loosening of dirt particles and the entrainment of dirt particles in the suction air flow also in the area of the joints, a smaller distance between the suction mouth edges and the floor surface should be aimed for compared to smooth floor surfaces. In the functional position for tiled floor surfaces, the suction nozzle with similarly good suction properties can also be used on other uneven hard floor surfaces.

The vertical adjustment of the carrier can be a linear lifting movement or a pivoting movement with a vertical movement component.

The invention assumes that the supporting sealing element for suctioning hard floor surfaces on the underside of the suction nozzle protrudes further than the edges of the suction mouth. According to the invention, the gap between the suction mouth edges and the hard floor surface is adjusted between two differently specified default values, depending on the structure of the hard floor surface. The distance from the floor is adjustable according to the invention by a vertical adjustment of the supporting sealing element and by a vertical adjustment of the suction mouth edges. According to the invention, a smaller gap is set between the suction mouth edges and the hard floor surface for vacuuming tiled floor surfaces or uneven hard floor surfaces by means of a vertical adjustment of the supporting sealing element and the suction mouth edges than for vacuuming non-jointed smooth floors.

The invention provides that only one switching element is provided on the suction nozzle and that the switching element has three functional positions for vacuuming a textile floor surface, a tiled floor surface and an unjointed smooth floor.

When vacuuming hard floors, the suction head of the suction nozzle is supported on the supporting and sealing elements, a gap being created between the edges of the suction mouth and the floor surface. This gap is changed by actuating the switching element, the change in the gap distance taking into account the type of hard floor surface. When vacuuming textile floor surfaces, the load-bearing sealing element is raised so far that the sliding sole rests on the textile floor surface and the edges of the suction mouth are immersed in the pile of the textile floor covering. The suction air flows through the textile fibers of the floor covering and then flows into the suction slot at a high flow rate on the underside of the edges of the suction mouth.

Two supporting sealing elements are preferably attached to the carrier and are arranged in the suction direction in front of and behind the suction mouth. The load-bearing sealing elements can in particular be designed as bristle strips. The arrangement expediently comprises a front strip provided with openings on the bottom. The front strip can be designed as a bristle strip or consists, for example, of a foam material, with notches on the underside for the entry of suction air. It is also possible to use a rubber lip as a front strip.

The Fig. 1 and 2 show in a sectional view and in a bottom view of a suction nozzle for vacuum cleaner. The basic structure of the suction nozzle includes a suction head 1, a suction pipe connection piece 2, which is pivotally connected to a suction channel 4 of the suction head 1 about a pivot axis 3, a sliding sole 5, which has at least one suction mouth 7 delimited on the underside by suction mouth edges 6, an arrangement of sealing elements 8, 9 with at least one load-bearing sealing element 8, which is fastened to a vertically adjustable support 10, and a switching element 11 accessible on the suction head 1 for vertical adjustment of the support 10 between at least two functional positions A, B or C. The load-bearing sealing element 8 is shown in FIG a first functional position A for cleaning textile floor surfaces raised so far that the sliding sole 5 rests on the textile floor surface. In a second functional position B, the supporting sealing element 8 is lowered for cleaning hard floors and supports the suction head 1 on the hard floor surface, so that a gap s is established between the suction mouth edges 6 and the hard floor surface. In the exemplary embodiment, an air-permeable and / or apertured front strip 8 is provided on the carrier 10 in the suction direction in front of the suction mouth, and a further sealing element 9 is arranged in the working direction behind the suction mouth, for example in the form of a bristle strip or a flexible rubber lip. A sealing element can also be provided on the narrow sides of the suction head, which completely or partially seals the area between the front strip 8 and the sealing element 9 on the underside of the suction head and reduces air entry at the ends of the suction mouth. In the exemplary embodiment, the suction nozzle also has a rear roller 12.

The functional positions of the suction nozzle for vacuuming textile floor surfaces A and for vacuuming hard floors B, C are in the Fig. 3 shown schematically. In the functional position A for cleaning a textile floor surface, the sealing elements 8, 9 are raised so far that the sliding sole 5 rests on the textile floor surface. The Fig. 3 shows two functional positions B, C for vacuuming hard floors. In these two functional positions B, C, the sealing elements 8, 9 project further on the underside of the suction nozzle than the suction mouth edges 6 and support the suction head 1 on the hard floor surface, so that a gap s is established between the suction mouth edges 6 and the hard floor surface. The gap s can be adjusted between two default values that are set differently for tiled floor surfaces and for non-jointed smooth floor surfaces. The Fig. 3 shows the gap height s 1 in the functional position B for vacuuming non-jointed smooth floor surface and the gap height s 2 in the functional position C for vacuuming a tiled floor surface. A comparative analysis of the functional positions B, C reveals that a smaller gap s 2 is provided between the suction mouth edges 6 and the hard floor surface for vacuuming a tiled floor surface than for vacuuming non-jointed smooth floors (gap s 1 ).

It is within the scope of the invention that the suction nozzle has only one switching element 11, which has three functional positions A, B, C for vacuuming a textile floor surface, a tiled floor surface and an unjointed smooth floor. An embodiment not according to the invention is in the Fig. 4 shown.

In the non-inventive embodiment of the Fig. 4 the sliding sole 5 is arranged to be vertically adjustable and can be adjusted vertically by means of the switching element 11 between a functional position A for vacuuming textile floor surfaces and a functional position B or C for vacuuming hard floors. For further adjustment of the sliding sole 5, an adjusting device 13 with a selector switch 14 for correcting the position of the sliding sole 5 is provided between a functional position B for smooth floors and a functional position C for tiled floor surfaces. The adjusting device 13 expediently has a device which reduces a long adjusting path of the selector switch 14 into a short adjusting path of an actuator 15 acting on the sliding sole 5. Any constructive designs for reducing a linear travel path or a travel path by an angle of rotation should be recorded. In the exemplary embodiment, the device 16 has a ramp. A toggle lever arrangement or a kinematics with a toggle also represent advantageous structural configurations of the device 16.

The suction nozzle according to the invention can be used universally on textile floor surfaces and hard floors. It enables effective vacuuming of smooth floor surfaces and tiled floor surfaces is similar to uneven hard floor surfaces and is designed for suction devices that have a low-performance suction fan. The suction nozzle shown in the figures can be operated in particular in combination with a suction device which has a suction fan with an electrical power consumption of less than 900 watts.
