Abstract

A method is provided for the removal from a heat exchange of lint that is generated during a drying process in a domestic appliance for laundry care. A rinsing fluid is run through the heat exchanger for cleaning and the rinsing fluid is deflected during a cleaning phase with the magnitude of deflection or the direction of deflection of the rinsing fluid being a function of the strength of an air flow that is applied to deflect the rinsing fluid. The rinsing fluid is thus run through various regions of the heat exchanger depending on the deflection.

Description

Verfahren zum Entfernen von Flusen aus einem Wärmetauscher eines Hausgeräts, sowie entsprechendes Hausgerät Method for removing lint from a heat exchanger of a domestic appliance, and corresponding domestic appliance
The invention relates to a method for removing during a drying process of a domestic appliance for the care of laundry items, in particular a clothes dryer, produced lint from a heat exchanger, wherein for cleaning a rinsing liquid is passed through the heat exchanger.
Also, the invention relates to a domestic appliance for the care of laundry, comprising a heat exchanger, a process air blower for driving an air flow through the heat exchanger, a collecting container for a rinsing liquid for removing generated during a drying process lint from the heat exchanger, wherein in a cleaning phase, the rinsing liquid through the Heat exchanger is passed, and a control device for controlling the cleaning.
Such a method and such a domestic appliance are known from DE 37 38 031 C2.
In addition, clothes dryers are known, which have a compressor heat pump for alternately heating and cooling a circulating process air flow. In addition to the standard lint filter, these units also have additional filter systems to prevent leaching of the associated refrigerant heat exchangers. Such heat exchangers are relatively fine structured with a large variety of fins to create a good heat transfer from the circulating in the heat pump working or refrigerant to the process air flow, and therefore more than heat exchangers in conventional clothes dryers without heat pumps prone to contamination by lint The corresponding filter systems consist of several sieves connected in series, filter foams or the like for the removal of the fine lint from the process air which has passed through the normal lint filter. As a result, the built-in home appliance heat exchanger should be kept free of fine lint, so as to achieve a good heat transfer from the refrigerant to the process air flow. However, since the filter systems are installed in the area of the device base, the maintenance is or cleaning only very cumbersome. In addition, the cleaning cycles are relatively short and the cleaning itself very expensive.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method in which the removal of the lint can be improved in a heat exchanger of a household appliance for the care of laundry. In particular, in a passage of rinsing liquid through the heat exchanger, the removal of the lint accumulated therein should be effective. Also, a correspondingly upgraded home appliance should be specified.
This object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1, and a domestic appliance having the features of claim 8. Preferred developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims. Preferred developments of the method correspond to preferred developments of the domestic appliance, even if this is not explicitly stated in each case.
The rinsing liquid is deflected during a cleaning phase depending on the strength of a producible air flow, and depending on this deflection, the rinsing liquid flows through different areas of the heat exchanger. As a result, the removal of lint from the heat exchangers can be achieved highly effectively. By the flushing liquid can be directed individually to different locations of the heat exchanger, virtually all areas of the heat exchanger can be freed from lint. As a result, in addition to a relatively simple and low-effort process, an improved cleaning can be ensured. Thus, this efficient cleaning eliminates deposits on the fins of the heat exchanger both in the front and in the rear. This optimizes the performance of the device, especially energy consumption and time. In addition, it is no longer necessary to make another cleaning of filter systems mandatory. In the household appliance according to the invention for the care of laundry items, comprising a heat exchanger, a process air blower for driving an air flow through the heat exchanger, a collecting container for a rinsing liquid for removing generated during a drying process lint from the heat exchanger, wherein in a cleaning phase, the rinsing liquid passed through the heat exchanger and a control device for controlling the cleaning, the control device is set up such that during the cleaning phase, the process air blower is operable to drive the air flow, wherein the flushing liquid is deflected depending on the strength of the air flow and flows through different areas of the heat exchanger depending on the deflection
Preferably, the air flow is generated by a process air blower of the domestic appliance and passed through the heat exchanger. The already provided in the household appliance unit of the process air blower is thus used multifunctional. Depending on the operating state of the process air blower, an air flow is thus generated or not.
Preferably, the flushing liquid is passed through a front portion of the heat exchanger when the generation of the airflow is deactivated. A front region is understood as meaning that part of the heat exchanger which, when the air flow is activated in the flow direction, is provided as an air inflow region and is therefore first reached by the circulating process air flow. Thus, when the process air blower is turned off, the front portion of the heat exchanger is cleaned by flowing the flushing liquid through this front portion.
The rinsing liquid preferably flows through a rear area of the heat exchanger in the flow direction of the air flow when the generation of the air flow is activated. Thus, when the process air blower is switched on, the incoming rinsing liquid is preferably deflected in such a way that it flows through the rear region of the heat exchanger and thus rinses out the lint accumulated there.
When the process air blower is running, the liquid is thus pressed further between the fins of the heat exchanger due to the static and dynamic pressure of the process air, as a result of which cleaning of the rear lamella areas can be achieved. For purifying the heat exchanger, a condensate produced in the household appliance during a drying process is preferably collected as rinsing liquid. Thus, a fluid is used here also saving material, which is obtained during the drying process. A separate additional liquid for cleaning is therefore not required. With this design, a product that actually drops as waste, the condensate, is used to purify the heat exchangers.
Preferably, the heat exchanger is associated with a heat pump of the domestic appliance. The heat pump can be designed as a compressor heat pump. Therein, a compressor for the working or refrigerant (chlorinated and / or fluorinated hydrocarbon or carbon dioxide) and a throttle are arranged in a known manner between two heat exchangers. In a first heat exchanger, which is the one which is first flown by the process air stream laden with moisture and is therefore particularly at risk for pollution by fluff, the refrigerant is evaporated at low pressure, whereby it absorbs heat and thus cools the process air flow. The vaporized refrigerant is compressed in a compressor to a relatively high pressure and fed to the second heat exchanger, where it heats the process air stream by releasing heat and thereby liquefied. In a subsequent to the second heat exchanger throttle the liquefied refrigerant is depressurized to the mentioned low pressure, and thus passes back to the first heat exchanger.
The cleaning of the heat exchangers and thus the removal of the fluff from the heat exchangers is preferably carried out at the end of a drying process of laundry items introduced in the domestic appliance and, in particular, at a time when the fluff is still moist.
The rinsing liquid is preferably introduced from above into the heat exchanger and then flows around the fins of the heat exchanger. Due to the achievable high flow rate and the possibility of introducing a relatively large amount of liquid, the adhering fluff can be effectively washed away.
Es zeigen:Preferably, the domestic appliance comprises a line with a controllable by the control valve, which line connects the sump with the heat exchanger. A tumble dryer 1 comprises a compressor heat pump 2 (cf the description above, only partially shown here for the sake of clarity), which comprises a heat exchanger 2. The heat exchanger 2 comprises a plurality of fins 21 and is coupled to a process air guide. It can thereby be achieved that, during operation of the tumble dryer 1, in particular during a drying phase, process air is conducted as airflow 4 in the illustrated arrow through the heat exchanger 2. The air stream 4 generated in the process air guide is generated by a process air blower 6, which is shown only schematically, which can be activated and deactivated as required.
In addition, the tumble dryer 1 comprises a collecting container 3, which is arranged in a vertical direction at a higher level than the heat exchanger 2. In the collecting container 3 is condensate, which is generated during the drying process and pumped into the collecting container 3.
Between the collecting container 3 and the heat exchanger 2, a line 5 is arranged, through which the liquid contained in the collecting container 3 can be passed to the heat exchanger 2. By means of a valve 7, the conduit 5 can be released or closed.
A control device 8 is set up, in particular programmed, to control the process of removing lint from the heat exchanger 2 generated during a drying process (which it also preferably controls) can. For this purpose, it controls, as indicated by corresponding arrows, the process air blower 6 and the valve 7. The corresponding method steps are explained below.
In order to remove lint, which accumulate in the heat exchanger 2, and in particular on the lamellae 21 during a drying process, during a cleaning phase, the condensate collected in the collecting container 3 is passed through the heat exchanger 2. The condensate serves as a rinsing liquid to rinse the lint from the heat exchanger 2 can.
As can be seen there, the airflow 4 generated by the process air blower flows in at a front-flow area 22 of the heat exchanger 2 and exits at a downstream end or rear area 23. The arrangement of the line 5 on the heat exchanger 2 is formed so that the rinsing liquid is introduced from above in the front region 22 in the heat exchanger 2. If the process air blower is switched off and thus no air flow 4 is generated, then the rinsing liquid flows from top to bottom through the heat exchanger 2 essentially into this front region 22, which, for example, extends approximately to the middle (viewed in the x direction).
If the process air blower is activated or remains activated and the air stream 4 flows through the heat exchanger 2 in the flow direction shown, the rinsing liquid stream introduced at the front region 22 is deflected in the x direction, whereby the rear region 23 of the heat exchanger 2 also flows through this rinsing liquid will be rinsed and there attaching lint.
Depending on whether or not an air flow 4 is generated or with which intensity the air flow is generated, the flow course of the flushing fluid can thus also be influenced. In particular, the flushing liquid can be deflected into different regions of the heat exchanger 2 by the air flow 4, as a result of which different areas can also be flowed through by the flushing liquid. In order to be able to provide large amounts of liquid for cleaning, the condensate is collected in the collecting container 3. Towards the end of the drying process and at a time when the lint adhering to the heat exchanger surfaces are still wet, a discharge opening of the collecting container 3 is released and the condensate used as a rinsing liquid is passed through a possibly formed with a large cross section line 5 to the heat exchanger 2 and from above rinsed over the fins 21 of the heat exchanger 2. For this purpose, in particular a relatively large opening 24 is formed so that a blockage of the opening, for example by lint, can be prevented.
Due to the high flow rate and the large amount of liquid lint adhering to the lamellae 21 are washed away. The lint can then be pumped with the condensate into the sewage system. It can also be provided that at least two times flushing of the heat exchanger 2 is performed, and the flushing liquid is pumped after a first run again in the collecting container 3 and then flows through the heat exchanger 2 again.
