Abstract

The device (4) has a pusher head (14) integrated to a pusher rod (16) that is fixed on a case of a time piece. The rod is axially displaced between a rest position and an active position against a spring (24) for controlling a function of the timepiece. A sealing unit (26) has a cap (28) made of sealing and flexible material e.g. rubber or silicone. The cap covers the pusher head, and is fixed on the case of the time piece. The rod traverses a guiding tube (18) that is fixed in the case and projected from the case.

In the illustrated embodiment, the ring fixation 30 is provided with an inner shoulder 30d which defines a housing for receiving the base 28b. Note in this connection that the axial depth of the housing is slightly less than the thickness of the base so that the latter can be compressed when the fastening screws 32 are tightened on the middle part 8.

Claims (8)

  1. Push-button control device for a timepiece, including a push-button head (14) secured to a push-button stem (16) that is arranged to be fixed to a timepiece case, while said stem being able to move axially between at least a rest position and an active position against a return member (24) to control at least one function of said timepiece, and water-resistant sealing means (26), wherein the water-resistant sealing (26) means include a cap (28) made of flexible, water-resistant material which covers the push-button head (14) and which is arranged to be secured to the timepiece case, said cap (28) including in the area of the aperture thereof, a collar (28b) via which said cap is arranged to abut against said timepiece case; said cap being arranged so as to be held compressed against the case via the collar (28b) by means of a securing ring (30) that is arranged to be fixed directly to the timepiece case, said device being characterized in that said securing ring (30) includes a cylindrical passage (30a), through which the cap (28) projects, and at one securing lug (30b).
  2. Control device according to claim 1, characterized in that the push-button stem (14) passes through a guide (18) tube that is arranged to be fixed in the case and to project from said case and in that the cap (28) surrounds and covers the push-button head (14) and the part projecting from the tube.
  3. Control device according to claim 1, characterized in that the cap (28) has a body of generally cylindrical shape and in that the collar (28b) extends in a substantially perpendicular plane to the cylinder axis.
  4. Control device according to claim 3, characterized in that the collar (28b) is extended in the axial direction of the cap (28) by a circular lip (28c), which extends substantially in alignment with the body of the cap.
  5. Control device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said securing ring (30) includes two diametrically opposite securing lugs (30b).
  6. Control device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that said securing ring (30) is provided with an inner shoulder (30d) defining a housing for receiving said collar (28b).
  7. Control device according to any of claims 7 to 9, characterized in that the securing lug or lugs (30b) are arranged so as to be directly screwed onto the case.
  8. Control device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cap (28) is made of rubber or silicon.
