Description

DOMAINE TECHNIQUETECHNICAL AREA

The present invention relates to a timepiece, and more particularly to a wristwatch having two rotating goggles each having substantially the same non-circular or non-symmetrical contour with respect to the center of the dial.

ARRIERE-PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUEBACKGROUND

Already known timepieces provided with two rotating glasses, arranged according to three different embodiments.

In the document CH 308 601 , the watch comprises a device consisting of two outer glasses in the form of juxtaposed rings, respectively bearing hour and minute indices, to allow to measure with said watch a time interval. The watch described in the document FR 2 192 331 also includes two concentric outer rotating glasses superimposed. The upper bezel, manipulable in rotation by means of a lateral knurling, comprises only a window that can be positioned opposite a given time indication. The lower bezel can be rotated by means of an upper knurling to bring one of the indications it bears next to the window and allow the user to know the imminence of a given event. As can be seen, in the two aforementioned documents, the maneuvers of the glasses only make it possible to modify information displays without any notable influence on the overall external appearance.

According to a second embodiment, illustrated for example by the document US 3,548,588 , the device comprises an outer bezel and an inner bezel, visible through the mirror and manipulated by the crown, to display on their periphery different information, but obviously being both circular, with no possibility of overlaying .

According to a third embodiment, illustrated by the document US 3,665,701 , the two rotating goggles are located indoors under the ice, in a configuration substantially symmetrical to that described in CH 308 601 and are rotated by manipulations at the crown.

As can be seen, these three embodiments make it possible to display information relating to the passage of time, but the manipulations of the spectacles do not substantially modify the external appearance of the watch.

RESUME DE L'INVENTIONSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention therefore relates to an embodiment different from those previously described in that the relative rotation of one rotating bezel relative to the other, whether performed manually or automatically, modifies the visual appearance. of the watch, said rotation possibly being associated passively or actively with the passage of time.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a timepiece, which will subsequently be essentially illustrated by a wristwatch comprising a box formed of a bottom and a middle part closed by an ice-cream disposed above a dial with an analog or digital display, delimiting the housing of a watch movement, said window being surrounded by two rotating outer glasses, upper and lower, superimposed on a scope of the middle part. The wristwatch is characterized in that the two glasses and the scope, on which they are operable in rotation, have identical or similar non-circular contours, or not symmetrical with respect to the center of the dial in superimposed position. Thus the glasses can occupy a first rest position in which they are essentially superimposed above the scope of the middle part and a second position in which hidden parts of the scope and / or the masked portions of the lower bezel are made visible after rotation of at least one bezel.

In the context of the present description, "similar contour" means that the outline of an element, scope or telescope, may comprise an enlargement band leaving said apparent band in the rest position, while masking other surfaces of said element .

In a preferred embodiment, the scope and the spectacles have an oblong curvilinear shape, for example an oval shape. The rotation of the glasses can be performed manually, possibly with a mutual training glasses, or automatically by means of a mechanical drive programmable from the movement. Depending on their angle of rotation from the rest position, they can also enable to activate / deactivate a function integrated in the timepiece in connection or not with the passage of time, such as the activation of an alarm time or the passage in a display mode not related to the passage of time.

As can be seen, in such a timepiece, the particular design of the rotating eyewear makes it possible to modify the external appearance of the watch by revealing decorations normally hidden in the rest position, such as jewelery inlays, and possibly allows to interact with the watch movement.

DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE DE L'INVENTIONDETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

To the figure 1 , in a top view, in the "rest" position, a timepiece according to the invention is shown, illustrated by a wristwatch, also shown in FIG. figure 2 broken section II-II passing through the 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions. The watch comprises a box 1 formed of a bottom 3 and a middle part 2 closed by a lens 4 disposed above a dial 5 with an analogue display defining the housing of a watch movement 6 provided with a body of external control 7, such as a crown-push. In the example shown, the glass 4 and the dial 5 have a circular shape, but the outer contour 2a of the middle part 2 of the wristwatch is oval, that is to say with two axes of symmetry at 12 o'clock -6 am and 3-9 pm, but without symmetry of revolution.

The glass 4 is surrounded by an upper rotating bezel 10 and a lower rotating bezel 20, the two glasses 10, 20 having an oval shape and being superimposed above a scope 8 of the caseband 2. The scope 8 consists of a ring 8a, parallel to the surface of the dial, and two rounded portions 8b inclined towards the bottom 3 and defining the oval shape.

In the rest position shown in Figures 1 and 2 the base of the lower bezel 20 completely covers the inclined portions 8b and partially the ring 8a of the bearing surface 8. The upper surface of the lower bezel 20 is parallel to the inclined portions 8b and extends above the zone 8a covered by said lower bezel 20, the connection between the base and the upper part forming an inclined plane 21 permanently visible on the entire periphery of the wristwatch. It will be observed that this design of the telescope forms a sort of stopper 27, the narrowest part of which is at the level of the break between the parts 8a, 8b of the span 8.

The base of the upper bezel 10 has a portion bearing on the entire upper surface of the lower bezel 20, said bearing portion being extended by a foot 13 extending to the ring 8a of the bearing 8 in the space defined by the vertical wall 2b of the middle part 2 joining the ring 8a of the bearing surface 8 and the inner vertical wall of the lower bezel 20.

La face visible de la lunette supérieure 10 comporte une surface inclinée 12 parallèle à la base de ladite lunette et un raccordement 11 à ladite base, incliné et sensiblement parallèle au raccordement 21 de la lunette inférieure 20.The visible face of the upper bezel 10 has an inclined surface 12 parallel to the base of said bezel and a connection 11 to said base, inclined and substantially parallel to the connection 21 of the lower bezel 20.

The two glasses 10, 20 have been designed to allow a very simple assembly. After positioning the lower bezel 20 on the outer portion of the bearing surface 8a, snap the foot 13 of the upper bezel 10 in the wall 2b of the middle part 2, the latching means 19 being schematically represented by an annular spring. The holding of the lower bezel 20 and its positioning are improved by the stopper 27.

Referring now to Figures 4 to 7 the various aspects of the wristwatch are shown when the spectacles 10, 20 are rotated from the rest position shown in FIG. figure 1 , that is to say when said glasses are superimposed. To the figure 4 , the top bezel 10 is rotated in the counterclockwise direction by discovering portions of the hidden portions 23 of the lower bezel 20 which has remained in its initial position. To the figure 5 both bezel 10, 20 have a symmetrical cross-shaped position. It will be observed that this configuration already constitutes a decorative motif as such. In other words, a single rotating bezel having the asymmetry characteristics stated at the beginning already makes it possible to achieve one of the aims of the invention.

To the figure 6 , the upper bezel 10 is continued to rotate, by driving the lower bezel 20 at the same angle of rotation and revealing portions of the hidden portions 9 of the bearing 8. figure 7 the two glasses were brought into symmetrical positions which, in this example, correspond to a rotation of the upper telescope 135 ° and the lower telescope 20 45 ° in the counterclockwise direction, although other choices are possible, for example with rotations of 120 ° and 60 °.

To facilitate the symmetrical positioning of the spectacles 10, 20, it is advantageous to provide hollow cams making it possible to control the angular deflection of each telescope, as explained hereinafter with reference to FIGS. Figures 2 and 3 . A first circular hollow cam 14 is formed in the outer vertical wall of the foot 13 of the upper bezel 10 with an angular aperture α in the clockwise direction, said cam 14 cooperating with a stop 24 of the vertical wall opposite the lower bezel 20. A second circular hollow cam 15 is formed in the ring 8a of the bearing surface 8 with an angular opening β in the anti-clockwise direction, said second cam 15 cooperating with an abutment 25 formed at the base of the lower bezel 20 in the part covering the ring 8a. In the example shown in figures 1 and 4 to 7 , α = 90 ° and β = 45 °. Thus, when the upper bezel is turned 90 ° counterclockwise, the stop 24 follows the cam 14 to the position shown in FIG. figure 5 without further movement of the lower bezel 20. Continuing to rotate the upper bezel 10, the lateral stop 24 then drives the lower bezel 20 until the lower stop 25 bears against the end of the cam 15 to immobilize the two glasses in the position shown in the figure 7 . It is of course possible to choose other angular openings, for example α = β = 60 °, to have perfect symmetry after total rotation. Instead of having the cams 14, 15 disposed on either side of the 3h position, it is of course possible to provide them at any other point on the vertical wall of the foot 13 and the ring 8a of the span. 8. Similarly, it is possible to reverse the stops and the cams on the facing walls, for example to provide the cam 14 in the lower bezel 20 and the stop 24 on the upper bezel 10.

In the embodiment which has just been described, the glasses, upper and lower 20, have oblique extensions 11, 21 facilitating their manipulation, whether or not there are cams 14, 15 guiding limiting the movement of glasses 10, 20.

In other embodiments, shown in Figures 8, 9, and 10, 11 , the two glasses are totally superimposed.

The figure 8 represents a second embodiment which differs from that previously described in that the two superimposed spectacles 10, 20 are perfectly circular, but have a center C 'offset from the center C of the dial. As we see in figure 9 by rotating the glasses 10, 20, the appearance of the wristwatch can be modified. Referring also to the figure 13B it can be seen that the manipulation of the spectacles can be facilitated by a knurling 26 on the upper bezel 10 and a lateral knurling 28 on the lower bezel 20. Figure 13B a contactor 17, for example a pressure contactor or a magnetic contactor, is also schematically shown, enabling a function of the wristwatch to be activated by rotating the lower bezel 20 by an angle greater than that of a groove 17a. Conversely, the cup of figure 13A represents another embodiment in which the foot 13 of the upper bezel 10 is provided with a sector gear 16 for driving said rotating bezel by means of a gear wheel 18 whose rotation can be controlled or programmed at By means of the outer control member 7. If the two goggles 10, 20 are provided with cams as described above, the lower bezel 20 will also be driven. For example, it is possible to program a specific time at which the two glasses will go to the position corresponding to that shown in FIG. figure 7 .

Comme on le voit à la figure 11, l'aspect de la montre-bracelet est totalement modifié après rotation des lunettes 10, 20.Referring now to Figures 10 and 11 , there is shown a wristwatch with digital display liquid crystal provided with two pushers 7a, 7b and having two rotating goggles 10, 20 superimposed in the rest position and totally asymmetrical shape. As we see in figure 11 , the appearance of the wristwatch is completely modified after rotation of the glasses 10, 20.

The figure 12 represents yet another embodiment which differs from that shown in figure 1 in that the hidden parts 9 of the bearing surface 8 have extensions 29 permanently visible in the rest position, producing an additional aesthetic effect.
