Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Vorschaltgerät mit Dimmvorrichtung für eine Niederdruckentladungslampe. Zur Helligkeitssteuerung wird der Gleichanteil der periodisch modulierten Einhüllenden des Lampenstromes variiert. Vorgegebene minimale Werte des Lampenstromes werden dabei nicht unterschritten. Phasen mit hohem Lampenstrom zeichnen sich durch eine steile ansteigende Flanke aus, verglichen mit einer flacheren abfallenden Flanke.

The invention relates to a ballast with dimming device for a low-pressure discharge lamp. For brightness control, the DC component of the periodically modulated envelope of the lamp current is varied. Predetermined minimum values of the lamp current are not undershot. Phases with high lamp current are characterized by a steep rising edge, compared to a flatter falling edge.
