Abstract

Inspection hatches for plasterboard ceilings and walls, characterized in that in a ceiling (A), formed by sheets of plasterboard of the type in which a gypsum plaster sheet (2) is sandwiched between layers of heavy paper (1,3), an opening (B) for a hatch is delimited perimetrically by a metal plate (4) that is folded so as to assume an L-shaped profile and is fixed to the plasterboard by self-drilling screws (5). The hatch is constituted by a plasterboard sheet that is framed perimetrically by a strip to which L-shaped profiled elements are welded. <IMAGE>

Description

  • The present invention relates to the production of hatches for periodic inspection of areas located behind ceilings and walls made of plasterboard.
  • In practice, these are detachable panels that have the same characteristics as the ceilings and walls that accommodate them and with which they must ensure, if required, a perfect seal.
  • European Patent No. 0 567 731 A discloses an inspection hatch and a metal plate perimetrically limiting an opening for the hatch in which the metal plate is a L-shaped profile, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • The characteristics of the invention are described, by way of example only, in the attached drawings in which:
    • Figures 1 and 2 are vertical sectional views of a ceiling and of the corresponding hatch according to the invention, before and after positioning for closure.
  • With reference to the drawings and referring to the example of Figures 1 and 2, in a ceiling A, formed by plasterboard sheets of the type in which a gypsum plaster sheet 2 is sandwiched between heavy paper layers 1 and 3, an opening B for a hatch is delimited perimetrically by a metal plate 4 that is folded so as to have an L-shaped profile and is fixed to the plasterboard by self-drilling screws 5.
  • It is also noted that if the ceiling is reinforced by metal stringers 7 folded so as to have a C-shaped profile, the opening B for the hatch can be delimited by a profiled element 6 that is fixed to a stringer 7 by way of screw means 8 and 9.
  • The hatch C is constituted by a sheet of plasterboard that is framed perimetrically by a strip 10 to which L-shaped profiled elements 11 and 12 are welded: the first profiled element is designed to fix from below the plasterboard sheet by means of self-drilling screws 5 and the second profiled element is designed to allow abutment contact around the space B.
  • It is evident that without altering the general characteristics that have been described and illustrated, the present invention can be susceptible of modifications and variations that are in any case within the scope of the appended claims.
  • Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.

Claims (2)

  1. Inspection hatch and a metal plate (4) perimetrically limiting an opening (B) for the hatch for plasterboard ceilings and walls, said ceiling (A) and walls formed by sheets of plasterboard of the type in which a gypsum plaster sheet (2) is sandwiched between layers of heavy paper (1, 3) in which the plate is fixed to the plasterboard by self-drilling screws (5), said plate being folded so as to assume an L-shaped profile, characterized in that the inspection hatch (C) is constituted by a sheet of plasterboard that is framed perimetrically by a strip (10) to which L-shaped profiled elements (11, 12) are welded: a first profiled element being welded in order to fix from below the plasterboard sheet by means of self-drilling screws (5), a second profiled element being welded so as to allow resting by abutment around the opening (B).
  2. The inspection hatch for plasterboard ceilings and walls according to claim 1, characterized in that the ceiling is reinforced by metal stringers (7) that are folded so as to assume a C-shaped profile, said opening (B) for the hatch is delimited by a profiled element (6) that is fixed to the stringer (7) by way of screw means (8, 9).
