Description

The invention relates to a locking device of the lever type or the like comprising a housing integral with a headrest of housing and serving as a housing for a control mechanism likely to act through a rack on at least one operating rod extending above or below it housing, at the rear of a rod headrest of which it is made integral, said rack comprising, at a end coming to extend outside the housing so as to extend beyond the corresponding end of the headrest of housing, snap-fit hooking means for the reception of additional attachment means associated with the operating rod, while the corresponding end of the headrest of the housing is provided with means for blocking a rod headrest.

A locking fitting of this type is known, for example, by document FR-A-2 499 139.

The present invention will find its application in the field of the building hardware and concerns, more particularly the locking fittings, of the lever type or the like.

Generally, such locking fittings have a housing accommodating a control mechanism at the through which a user is able to act on one or more operating rods extending above and / or below this box and working on locking members, suitable to cooperate with keepers for closing and locking a door, window or the like.

In particular, such a fitting or lever is, often housed in a recessed groove provided in rebate of the opening of this door, window or other. Also, the elements of this cremone bolt are sheltered, in this groove installation, by means of a headrest secured to said housing. In fact, it is very common for operating rods are also attached to the rear of such a headrest by means which also provide guidance.

We understand, of course, that these fittings, thus constituted, constitute particularly bulky assemblies, both for packaging as for transport, handling and the number of references stored.

To this are added other difficulties which arise from the obligation to be able to cut lengthwise the headrest and the operating rods so that they can be adjusted, very exactly, their length to the dimensions of a carpentry, but also for the purpose of standardization in the manufacture of housing and reduction of stored references.

Obviously, if the housing, the operating rod (s) and the headrest constitute one and the same whole, the custom or standard length of the headrest and this or these operating rods is a problem, both in management just-in-time production the means to achieve it. Indeed, each case is a reference to manage. The evolution and flexibility of techniques make rub shoulders with old and new references that must be satisfied on time.

It is therefore important to find reduced standard modules which, without increasing working time or handling, reduce both references and costs, without modification manufacturing and customer.

To remedy the aforementioned problem, we already have considered different solutions. In particular we imagined sets of rods and headrests likely to be reported on either side of a mechanism housing ordered. In this case, this case comprises, in its part front, a section of headrest, preferably referred to in the continuation of the description, headrest of case, which comes to extend on one side and / or on the other a headrest at the back of which is made integral with a rod. In addition, this comprises, at its end intended to cooperate with the mechanism control housed in this housing, hooking means to forms complementary to hooking and receiving means that receives a rack cooperating with said mechanism ordered.

In short, this rack is an extension of said operating rod in this housing.

We will refer, more particularly, to document FR-A-2,499,139 which describes such a locking fitting of window, door or the like, cremone bolt type, comprising, of a on the one hand, a housing and, on the other hand, headrest assemblies and rods capable of being connected to said housing by a appropriate linkage device.

It is also known from document DE-U-92 12 950 a cremone bolt bidirectional, with a housing on both sides from which extend racks whose ends are also provided with interlocking connecting means intended to cooperate with complementary connecting means that include the ends of the operating rods. The housing is, moreover, provided with a housing headrest the end edges of which are pivotally mounted, around an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of this housing headrest, flaps, intended to extend above ends of the rod headrests to maintain these in position.

For that and once folded over these ends of headrests of rod, these shutters are immobilized by means of a fixing screw used in particular for fixing the fitting on carpentry. In other words, these components cannot guarantee the cooperation between the ends of the operating rods with their respective rack, that once the elements of the cremone bolt fixed to the joinery by means of fixing screws provided for this purpose. Also, the carpenter cannot make a pre-assembly of the housing and the rod (s) with their headrest, before presenting this set on its joinery. Of even, these elements cannot be positioned on this carpentry for a simple functional test, without it being necessary to install at least some of the screws fixing, because in the absence of the latter, a rod and its headrest can freely be released from the parts with which they are normally brought to cooperate at the housing.

Furthermore, document EP-A 0 899 401 which is part of state of the art in accordance with Article 54 (3) EPC, describes a cremone bolt type fitting, for blocking a rod headrest extending, at one end, the headrest of the housing of said fitting, a cover cap maintained in position by means of the same fixing screw helping to secure said housing from hardware to carpentry. In one embodiment particular, this cover is slidably mounted on the end of the headrest, knowing that it is there still, immobilized in translation, in the blocking position of the rod headrest, through this screw used to fix the case on the carpentry.

Document FR-A-2 635 810 discloses a state of the quite similar technique. The blocking means are present, in this case, in the form of a movable mounted slide axially on the end of the housing headrest, to blocking position, extend over the end matching of the rod headrest. However, its maintenance in this locking position is only guaranteed once the screw fixing the housing in place. Therefore, this type of construction seriously thwarts assembly, mounting and testing operations of such cremone bolt at a window or door type carpentry.

The invention proposes to provide a solution to these problems allowing easy assembly of a cremone bolt case with its rod assembly (s) and rod headrest, allowing the carpenter to come and position these pieces, so functional, on the joinery, without it being necessary, at first, to install the screws fixation.

In fact, it was not until the final establishment, so if necessary after resumption in length of the rods and rod faceplates made necessary after a first try functional, that this carpenter must engage the said screws fixation.

To this end, the invention relates to a fitting for locking the type cremone bolt or the like comprising a box integral with a housing headrest and serving as a housing for a command likely to act through a rack on minus an operating rod, extending above or below of the housing, at the rear of a rod headrest including it is made integral, said rack comprising, at level of one end extending beyond the housing so as to extend beyond the corresponding end of the headrest of the housing, means of hooking by socket for receiving additional fastening means associated with the operating rod while the end corresponding to the headrest of the housing is provided with means of blocking of a rod headrest, these means of blocking a rod headrest being defined by a planned shutter capable of clipping onto said corresponding end of the housing headrest from extend the latter above this rod headrest to block it.

According to a feature of the invention, said component defining the locking means also includes a retaining finger provided able to be inserted, at the joint plane between the two headrests, respectively, of casing and rod, for maintain in cooperation the additional hanging means of the rod with the hooking means of the rack.

In another feature, said housing is defined by a provided trunk capable of accommodating the control mechanism of the cremone bolt or cremone bolt, this case being returned integral with a housing headrest itself defined in the form a safe for the reception, sliding from the or racks cooperating with an operating rod, the assembly being further completed by a cover provided suitable for close these casings of the casing and the headrest of the casing.

Advantageously, said cover receives the flap (s) defining said means for blocking a rod headrest.

The advantages of the present invention are that the link between operating rods and rod faceplates with the elements of the cremone bolt case is carried out, after or before the housing of the housing in the recess groove of said carpentry, by simple fitting of the headrest assembly or sets rod and by clipping the shutters as indicated above, so without it being necessary, immediately, put in place any screw fixation.

Finally, as will appear more particularly from the description which follows, relating to a mode of realization given by way of indicative and nonlimiting example, the design according to the invention makes manufacturing easier of the case. In particular, it can arise from a simple molding operation.

The invention will be better understood with reference to the attached drawings in which:

• Figure 1 is a schematic representation, in elevation and in perspective of a cremone bolt according to the invention;

As shown in Figures 1 to 6 of the accompanying drawings, the present invention relates to the field of fittings of locking mechanism, lever type or the like.

Thus, in Figure 1 it has been shown, more in particular, a cremone bolt 1 which is distinguished by a case 2 provided capable of accommodating a control mechanism (not represented) through which a user is able to intervene on the movement of locking members 3 provided suitable for cooperate with strikes when closing a door, window or the like fitted with such a lever 1.

In fact, this transmission of movement applied to the mechanism switch towards the locking members 3 is carried out through one or more operating rods 4, 5 extending above or below the housing 2.

Note that the latter is integral with a headrest of housing 6 extended, at its ends 7, 8, by rod headrests 9, 10 at the rear of which extend, precisely, said operating rods 4, 5. Also, at these ends 7, 8, the housing headrest 6 is equipped with locking means 11 provided capable of blocking, therefore maintaining, said faceplates of rods 9, 10.

Referring now to more particularly Figures 2 and 3, we see that the control mechanism, housed in the box 2 intervenes on an operating rod 4, 5 by via a rack 12, 12A provided with means hooking by socket 13 for receiving means additional hanging 14 associated with a rod operation 4, 5, at the end 15 oriented in the direction of said case 2.

It will be observed in this regard, that in the context of a lever unidirectional, i.e. including the operating rods 4, 5 extending on either side of the housing 2 come to move, under the action of the control mechanism, in the same direction, said rack may be through at this housing 2 and present, at each of its ends, such hooking means 13. Under these conditions, such a rack is nothing more or less than a rod section. if is a bi-directional lever, to say having operating rods 4, 5 coming move in opposite directions under the action of said control mechanism, this acts on two racks 12, 12A, separate, each connected to an operating rod respectively 4, 5.

As for the attachment means 13, they are defined, so known to the skilled person, by a connecting piece 16 of approximately "U" section with two walls parallel 17, 18 extending towards the front of the housing 2, from a bottom 19 parallel to the plane of an operating rod 4, 5.

Thus, the end 15 of the latter is inserted into this connecting piece 16, between said parallel walls 17, 18, these comprising a toothing 20 on which comes fit a toothing 21 formed at the edges longitudinal of this operating rod 4, 5.

As a result, it comes to fit on this piece of link 16 by displacement in a direction which is directed to it perpendicular.

The rack 12, 12A actually has one end 22 extending outside the housing 2 so as to extend beyond of the corresponding end 7, 8 of the headrest of the housing 6, so that the hooking means 13 which is provided this end 22 is indeed outside the right of way of said housing headrest 6. Such a design, not only facilitates the nesting to which reference was made higher but, moreover, allows the design of a housing 2 of smaller depth.

As for the blocking means 11 guaranteeing the maintenance of a rod headrest 9, 10 in line with this headrest of housing 6, they are defined, according to the invention, by a flap 23 provided suitable for clipping onto the end 7, 8 of this housing headrest 6 so as to extend it above of a rod headrest 9, 10 to ensure, precisely, this blocking function. Such a shutter 23 is therefore, preferably mounted articulated on one of the 24 sides sides of the headrest of housing 6 and has, on its edge 25 opposite to the joint 26, a hanging flange 27 provided able to cooperate with an additional hooking rim 28 defined at the opposite lateral side 29 of the headrest housing 6.

In addition, at the level of such an end 7, 8, this headrest of housing 6 has, on its front face 30, a recess 31 for the reception of the flap 23 and, therefore, of adjusted depth, substantially, the thickness of the latter.

In addition, this flap 23 receives, on its side 32 intended to be folded down on the housing headrest 6, a retaining finger 33 provided capable of being inserted, at the height of the joint plane 34, between the two headrests, respectively, of housing 6 and rod 9; 10, to guarantee the continued cooperation of additional hooking means 14 of a rod operation 4, 5 with the attachment means 13 defined by the connecting piece 16 associated with a rack 12, 12A.

The present invention also relates to the design original case 2 and its headrest 6, such a lever.

In particular, the housing 2 includes a trunk 35 and a cover 36, defined, respectively, by one of the walls 37, 38 of this housing 2 extending perpendicular to the plane 39 of the headrest of the housing 6. The trunk 35 is further completed, the where appropriate, by a peripheral wall 40 defining the bottom, the upper wall and the lower wall of said housing 2.

As for the headrest of housing 6 it is itself defined by a trunk 41 made integral with the trunk 35 of the housing 2, and by a cover 42 defining the extension of the cover 36 of this last.

This trunk 41 of said headrest of housing 6 is provided capable of slidingly receive the rack (s) 12, 12A. Thus, it is defined, essentially, by a front wall 43, parallel to the plane of the rod faceplates 9, 10, a wall lateral 42 extending perpendicularly and defining the side 29 of the headrest of case 6, while, in its part rear, this trunk 41 communicates directly with the trunk 35 the housing 2 which it is made integral.

In fact, this trunk assembly 45 which ultimately defines the box trunk 35 and box 41 of box headrest 6, comes in one piece made by a process of suitable manufacturing, in particular by molding. advantageously, this trunk assembly 45 will be produced by injection molding, whether synthetic or metallic.

As for the cover 42 of the headrest of the housing 6 it defines the lateral side 24 of the latter. Advantageously, on this cover 42 are pivotally mounted the flaps 23 susceptible to be folded over the ends 7, 8 of the headrest of the housing 6.

Ultimately, this cover 42 constituting, substantially, the extension, in its front part, of the cover 36 corresponding to the housing 2, again forms with the flaps 23 a cover assembly 46 capable of arising of a single manufacturing operation, in particular of injection molding in synthetic or metallic material. AT note that through such a process it can be managed, easily, the thickness of the connecting lugs 47 connecting the flaps 23 to cover 42 so that, through their elasticity, they can define the articulation 26.

It will also be noted that this trunk 45 and the whole cover 46 can result from a single operation of molding through which they can be joined by a core which may or may not deteriorate when said assembly is closed chest.

Furthermore, said cover assembly 46 can receive means 48, 49, 50 provided capable of ensuring its connection with the trunk assembly 45.

Such means can take the form of clip means 48, 49 or that of a heat seal 50, for example.

As is apparent from the above description, the present invention not only meets assembly constraints parts making up a cremone bolt but, in addition, to manufacturing constraints of the latter.

In terms of assembly, it will be noted, in particular, that a rod and its headrest, can be cut at their end brought to cooperate with the housing and headrest sub-assembly of housing, at the same length which facilitates, of course, this recutting operation for the carpenter. It even allows to consider standardization in the manufacture of these espagnolettes.

In view of the above description, it appears that the present invention is an advantageous solution to the problem encountered through devices of the state of the art.

Claims (7)

1. Lock fitting such as an espagnolette or the like, including a casing (2) integral with a face-plate of a casing (6) and serving as a recess for accommodating a control mechanism capable of acting through a rack (12 ; 12A) on at least one operating rod (4 ; 5) extending above or below the casing (2), behind a face-plate of a rod (9 ; 10) which it is made integral with, said rack (12 ; 12A) including, at the level of an end (22) extending outside the casing (2) so as to extend beyond the corresponding end (7, 8) of the face-plate of the casing (6), means for coupling through encasement (13) for receiving complementary coupling means (14) associated with the operating rod (4 ; 5), while the corresponding end (7, 8) of the face-plate of the casing (6) is provided with means for blocking (11) a face-plate of the rod (9 ; 10), characterised in that said means for blocking (11) a face-plate of the rod (9 ; 10) are defined by a flap (23) designed capable of being snapped onto said corresponding end (7 ; 8) of the face-plate of the casing (6) while extending the latter above this face-plate of the rod (9, 10) to ensure the blocking of the latter.

Lock fitting according to claim 1, characterised in that a flap (23), corresponding to the blocking means (11), is fitted in a hinged way on one (24) of the lateral sides of the face-plate of the casing (6) and includes, on its edge (25) opposite its hinging edge (26), a coupling rim (27) designed capable of co-operating with a complementary coupling rim (28) defined at the level of the opposite lateral side (29) of this face-plate of the casing (6), the latter including, on its front face (30) and at the level of its ends (7, 8), a setback (31) for receiving a flap (23) and with a depth substantially adjusted to the thickness of the latter.

Lock fitting according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that a flap (23) receives, on its side (32) aimed at being folded back onto the face-plate of the casing (6), a retaining finger (33) designed capable of inserting, at the level of the junction plane (34) between the two face-plates of the casing (6) and the rod (9 ; 10), respectively, for maintaining the complementary coupling means (14) of the rod (4 ; 5) in co-operation with the coupling means (13) of the rack (12; 12A).
4. Lock fitting according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that:

   the casing (2) includes a box (35) and a lid (36) defined, respectively, at least by one of the walls (37, 38) of this casing (2) extending perpendicular to the plane (39) of the face-plate of the casing (6) ;

   the face-plate of the casing (6) includes a box (41) made integral with the box (35) of the casing (2) and a lid (42) defining the extension of the lid (36) of the latter ;

   the box (35) of the casing (2) and that (41) of the face-plate of the casing (6) defining a box unit (45), while the lid (36) of said casing (2) and that (42) of said face-plate of the casing (6) define a lid unit (46).
5. Lock fitting according to claim 4, characterised in that on the lid (42) of the face-plate of the casing (6) are pivotally mounted the flaps (23).
6. Lock fitting according to claim 4 or 5, characterised in that the box unit (45) and the lid unit (46) are made out of synthetic material by injection moulding, metal or the like.
7. Lock fitting according to any of claims 4 to 6, characterised in that the box unit (45) and the lid unit (46) are made integral with each other through connecting means (48, 49, 50) in the form of snapping-on means, thermal welding or the like.
