Abstract

A divider track (2) is used for installing wood molding (1) and laminate covered molding (1). A divider track (2) having a pair of spaced apart flanges (25) extending at a right angle from the front surface (21) of the divider track (2) is affixed to a surface. Kerfs (16) cut on the back surface (15) of molding (1) is positioned over spaced apart flanges (25) extending at a right angle from the front surface (21) of the divider track (2). Pressure is applied on the front surface (11) of the molding (1) for seating the molding (1) on the divider track (2). Serrations (24) extending along the interior upper surfaces of the flanges (25) aid in interlocking with kerfs (16) cut on the back surface (15) of the molding (1).
