Abstract

One fuse head has an insulating pole body with electrically conducting longitudinal strips, an incandescence bridge arranged on the pole body between the strips and connecting wires. The glow bridge and the connecting wires each being connected via soldered joints to the longitudinal strips. The fuse head also has at least one priming explosive and an external varnish finish coating covering the at least one priming explosive. To improve adherence, to facilitate the manufacturing process, to reduce the size of the solder joints, and to reduce the weight distribution of the priming explosive, it is proposed to arrange on the pole body, perpendicular to the pole body axis, grooves which are filled with priming explosive. Another fuse head has a basic module with electrically conducting pole supports running through it, the ends of the supports being connected on the ignition side via an incandescence bridge. It is proposed to arrange on the basic module at least one groove perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the basic module, said at least one groove being filled with priming explosive.

Description

The invention relates to a squib according to the preamble of independent claims 1 or 6 and a method for producing such a squib.

Squibs are detonative detonators that generate a pressure surge that detonates a downstream explosive charge. Ignition pills, on the other hand, create a flame that is used to ignite. Since squibs and squibs are constructed identically and differ only in the choice of primers, for the sake of simplicity we will always speak of squibs below.

1, D 5210 Troisdorf, Germany, 1988, pages 28, 29, there is shown a squib which consists of a base body through which electrical connecting wires are guided and an insulating pole body arranged on the base body. The pole body has a square cross-section, with its two broad sides being provided with copper cladding. A glow bridge is placed on the pole body, the ends of which are each connected to one of the copper claddings via a solder joint. The connecting wires are also soldered to the copper cladding on both broad sides at the end of the pole body facing the base body. A first and a second detonator are used as the detonator, which are applied in a plunge bath by several dipping processes. The first primer is arranged so that it surrounds the glow bridge. The outer shell forms the second primer, which is covered with a layer of lacquer for protection. This document describes the preamble of claim 1.

A comparable embodiment is described in US Pat. No. 4,152,988, which, however, has no pole body. Here, electrically conductive pole supports are guided through a base body, the ends of which are connected directly to a glow plug on the ignition side. The glow bridge is surrounded by an explosive. A layer of paint is again provided as external protection for the primer.

A disadvantage of both embodiments of a squib is that the adhesiveness of the primer or of the first and second primers to the pole body or to the base body is insufficient in the case of difficult environmental conditions such as shock, shock, vibration and rotation, so that the squibs fail.

The glow plug is directly connected to the connecting wires. To increase the mechanical strength when the primer is applied, the connecting wires are bent in a protective manner in front of the glow plug.

The invention has for its object to develop a squib or firing pill according to the preamble of independent claims 1 or 6 such that the adhesiveness of the primer is significantly improved. Furthermore, the application of the primer (s) in the production process should be simplified and the spread of the primer weight should be reduced.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in a first embodiment with the features of the preamble of claim 1 in that grooves are arranged on the pole body perpendicular to the pole body axis and are filled with primer.

These grooves have the advantage that the surface area for receiving the primer is increased, which improves the adhesiveness. Furthermore, these grooves have the advantage that a defined immersion of the pole body is possible in production when the primer is applied, due to the position of the grooves. Another significant advantage is that the grooves are a Prevent unwanted expansion of the solder bumps on the pole body. The size of the solder bumps is therefore evened out and limited by the grooves, as a result of which the spread of the detonator weight is reduced.

If the pole body has a square cross-section, at least one groove is advantageously arranged on opposite sides of the pole body at the same height. In an alternative embodiment, the grooves form an incision running around the surface of the pole body.

In a preferred embodiment, which offers advantages for a squib with a first and a second primer, two grooves are provided one above the other, one of which is filled with the first primer and the other with the second primer.

A special advantageous embodiment has a pole body which has an upper and a lower groove on its end faces, the respective upper and lower grooves being opposite one another.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the pole body is arranged on a base body through which the connecting wires are guided. The basic body significantly improves stability.

In a second embodiment with the features of independent claim 6, the object is achieved according to the invention in that at least one groove running perpendicular to the base body axis is arranged on the base body and the groove is filled with primer. In this embodiment, pole carriers are used instead of the connecting wires, which are guided through the base body. On the ignition side, these pole carriers are connected via a glow plug.

The groove or the grooves in the base body also improve the adhesiveness of the primer and facilitate the production process, as already described in the first embodiment.

The primer is advantageously a first and a second primer, the second primer filling the at least one groove. The second primer completely surrounds the first primer.

In a particularly expedient embodiment with a base body which is quadrangular in cross section, both broad sides of the base body are provided with a groove arranged at the same height. In addition, the pole supports are advantageously lamellae, i.e. they are band-shaped.

In the following, advantageous configurations are listed which apply to all of the embodiments.

Since the shape of the grooves also influences the adhesiveness, it is proposed that the grooves have either a semicircular, rectangular or triangular cross section.

It is also advantageous if the grooves have an isosceles trapezoidal cross-section, the longer of the parallel sides being arranged in the pole body or base body and the shorter side forming the incision.

According to the invention, the igniter (s) are applied in a dipping bath by several individual dipping processes. The grooves make application much easier, since they can be used to determine the immersion depth. For this reason, with two fuels (first and second fuels) grooves are advantageously made at different heights, depending on the immersion depth in the respective immersion bath.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to figures. It shows:

A cross-sectionally trapezoidal pole body 3 is placed on an insulating base body 1, the longer of the parallel sides being seated on the base body 1. The two broad sides of the pole body 3 are provided with copper cladding, ie they are conductive. On the upper side, ie the shorter of the parallel sides, a glow plug 6 is placed, which is guided over the narrow side of the pole body 3, the two ends of the glow plug 6 being soldered to the copper cladding on both sides of the pole body 3. Furthermore, at the lower end of the pole body 3 or the copper cladding, soldering points 2 are arranged, which produce the connection of the glow bridge 6 to connecting wires 17, which are guided through the base body 1.

In a special version, the base body can also be omitted.

On the two non-parallel narrow sides of the pole body 3, two grooves 5a, 5b arranged one above the other and at the same height are arranged perpendicular to the pole body axis 18. In this embodiment, these grooves 5a, 5b have a semicircular cross section (see also FIG. 3a). A first detergent 7 and a second detergent 8 are also applied to the pole body 3 by means of an immersion bath through several immersion processes. The first primer 7 completely surrounds the upper part of the pole body 3 with the glow plug 6 and has flowed into the upper groove 5b. The adhesiveness of the first primer 7 on the pole body 3 is hereby significantly increased. The second primer 8 completely surrounds the first primer 7 and fills in the groove 5a underneath, ie the groove 5a adjacent to the base body. Furthermore, the second primer 8 also surrounds the solder joints 2 on both sides of the pole body 3. This second groove 5a or grooves improve the adhesion of the second primer 8 to the pole body 3. The grooves 5a, 5b have the great advantage that when the primers are applied, their immersion depth is easy to determine, namely that the detonators just fill the associated groove 5a, 5b. Furthermore, the grooves limit excessive running of the solder bumps at the soldering points 2. For protection, the second primer 8 and thus all parts on the ignition side, except for the base body 1, are provided with a coating lacquer 9. As already described above, the grooves have the Advantage that the size of the solder bumps is evened out and limited, which reduces the spread of the detonator weight.

In den Fig.2a,2b ist dieselbe Ausführungsform wie in den Fig. 1a,1b gezeigt, jedoch ohne Zündstoffe 7,8 und Überzugslack 9.2a, 2b shows the same embodiment as shown in FIGS. 1a, 1b, but without igniters 7, 8 and coating lacquer 9.

Der in der Fig.3a gezeigte Polkörper 3 ist mit dem Polkörper 3 gemäß den Fig.1a,1b,2a,2b identisch.3a shows a view of the broad side of a pole body 3 with grooves 5 which are semicircular in cross section. FIG. 3a shows a section along the line A-A 'or B-B' of FIG. 3a. The pole body 3 shown in FIG. 3a is identical to the pole body 3 according to FIGS. 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b.

In FIG. 3c, rectangular grooves 5 are shown in cross section and in FIG. 3e, triangular in cross section.

Es sind jedoch auch andere Formen der Nuten 5 denkbar und vorteilhaft.3d shows trapezoidal grooves 5, the grooves 5 having an isosceles trapezoidal cross section, in which the longer of the parallel sides is arranged in the pole body 3, while the shorter of the parallel sides forms the incision. However, other shapes of the grooves 5 are also conceivable and advantageous.

Die Nuten 12 durchragen dabei die zwei Breitseiten vollständig.4a, 4b, 5a, 5b show a second preferred embodiment of a squib. In this embodiment, the squib consists of a cuboid base body 11 through which electrically conductive pole carriers 10 are guided. These pole carriers 10 are designed as lamellae. On the ignition side, the ends of the pole carriers 10 are connected to one another via a glow bridge 13 (see FIGS. 4a, 5a). For this purpose, the ends of the pole carriers 10 are bent over and in each case encompass one end of the glow bridge 13. A welded connection additionally establishes the electrical contact. The glow bridge is only indicated in FIGS. 4b, 5b. Both pole carriers 10 together with the glow plug 13 are surrounded by a first igniter 14. The first primer 14 is in turn surrounded by a second primer 15, which extends beyond the upper end of the base body 11. At this upper end of the base body 11, on both broad sides of the base body 11 to the base body axis 19 perpendicular grooves 12 are arranged, which are filled by the second primer 15. The grooves 12 project completely through the two broad sides.

In this embodiment, too, the primers (first and second primers) are applied in an immersion bath by several immersion processes.

To protect the primers, a coating lacquer 16 is applied over the second primer 15 and part of the base body 11.

In this embodiment too, the groove 12 decisively improves the adhesiveness and facilitates the production process.

Die Fig.5a,5b zeigen dieselbe Ausführungsform wie die in den Fig.4a,4b gezeigte, jedoch ohne Zündstoffe 14,15 und Überzugslack 16.5 a, 5 b show the same embodiment as that shown in FIGS. 4 a, 4 b, but without igniters 14, 15 and coating lacquer 16.

The polar body axis (18) or base body axis (19) is understood to mean the axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the squib.
