Claims (10)
- Electrical connector (10) of the type having a plug (12) and a complementary socket (14) and in which the plug has a metal plug body (16) housing an insulating plug block (18), the open-ended receptacles (20) of which receive electrical contact elements (22), and a coupling nut (28) of the bayonet type mounted rotatably on the front end (26) of the plug body, characterised in that the rear end (32) of the plug body has a hollow metal plug body extension (36) which defines a rear wiring chamber (40) and the rear free end edge (42) of which grips the protective braiding of the electric cable to be connected against the opposite front face (44) of a clamping ring (46), and in that it has an external insulating clamping sleeve (52), the front free end (56) of which is screwed onto the rear part (32) of the plug body (16) and the rear free end of which has an internal radial shoulder (58) which cooperates with the opposite rear face (62) of the clamping ring (46) so as to bring about the clamping of the protective braiding by the screwing of the clamping sleeve (52) onto the plug body.
- Connector according to Claim 1, characterised in that the plug body extension is screwed onto the rear part (32) of the plug body.
- Connector according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the rear free end edge (42) of the plug body extension (36) and the said opposite front face (44) of the clamping ring (46) are shaped as complementary truncated cones.
- Electrical connector according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the clamping ring (46) is made from insulating material and is extended axially towards the rear by a guide tube (66) for the electric cable which projects out of the clamping sleeve through the bore (68) which radially delimits the said internal radial shoulder (58) on the sleeve (52).
- Electrical connector according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the front free end of the clamping sleeve has a thread (56) screwed onto a threaded portion of the rear part (32) of the plug body (16) and an end annular portion (70) which extends axially towards the front beyond the thread in order to cover partially the external surface of the plug body with the interposing of a sealing ring (72).
- Electrical connector according to Claim 5, characterised in that the coupling nut (28) has a covering (78) of insulating material which is extended axially towards the rear by an end annular portion (76) which overlaps the said end annular part (70) of the clamping sleeve (52).
- Electrical connector according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it has a metal plug seal which, in the uncoupled position of the connector, is mounted on the plug in place of the socket and the external surface of which, accessible to the user, has a covering of electrical insulation.
- Electrical connector according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the socket (14) has a metal socket body (84), on which the portions of the external surface which are accessible to the user in the coupled position are electrically insulated.
- Electrical connector according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the electrical contact elements of the plug are elastically fitted into the insulating block in the receptacles of which they are inserted axially from the rear.
- Electrical connector according to Claim 9, characterised in that a sealing ring is arranged between the external wall of each electrical contact element and the opposite internal wall of the corresponding receptacle.
