Definitions
- the invention relates to a drain connection according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
- a drain connection of this type is known in the prior art from GB-A-2 178 654.
- a siphon on a urinal is known from the applicant's CH-A-666 504, which is connected to the drain line with a horizontally extending connecting pipe. So that the bowl does not have to be detached from the wall for cleaning and maintenance of the urinal, the siphon is connected to the bowl outlet with a detachable connector.
- EP-A-0 313 734 has disclosed a wall-hung urinal which has a two-part basin. An upper part of the pool is fixed to the wall and a lower part is detachably connected to the upper part. The lower part is removed to maintain the fittings and devices behind the basin.
- a two-part basin is usually not desired for various reasons.
- DE-C-58 677 and WO-A-8 800 993 have disclosed connections for sanitary articles which are designed as bellows, as a flexible pipe or as a telescopic extension and allow the sanitary article to pivot to a certain extent. These connections are generally not suitable for standard wall-hung urinals and do not always guarantee a reliable siphon effect.
- the invention has for its object to provide a drain connection of the type mentioned, which is particularly suitable for a urinal and which explains the moving away of the sanitary ware from the building wall for maintenance of the fittings and devices arranged behind the sanitary ware.
- the drain connection according to the invention allows the sanitary article to be completely moved away from the building wall without a part having to be loosened beforehand between the drain connector of the basin and the drain pipe.
- the invention thus enables the assembly of a one-piece sanitary article, which can be moved or folded away very easily from the building wall for maintenance of the devices and fittings arranged behind it.
- the sanitary article can thus be folded away from the building wall without first loosening the siphon and the fittings and devices arranged behind it are easily accessible from the side and from above.
- the sanitary article can be made in one piece from sanitary ware and its sub-area can also be made as usual, i.e. comparatively slim.
- the siphon When the sanitary article is moved away, the siphon is stretched in the area of its bends. If the basin is pushed back onto the building wall after maintenance, the siphon automatically returns to its original state. This is particularly space-saving and inexpensive.
- the embodiment shown has a basin made of, for example, sanitary ceramics, which has a concealed rinsing inlet 25 and an outlet connection 24.
- the basin 18 is detachably fastened to a wall box 23 or directly to the wall of the building with bolts 20 fixed to the wall and nuts (not shown here).
- the basin 18 has corresponding holes, not shown here.
- This type of attachment of a urinal basin to a building wall is known.
- a corner valve 21, a solenoid valve 31 and a flushing control 22 are arranged on the wall box 23, these being completely covered by the basin 18. These parts are covered on all sides and thus largely protected against vandalism.
- the basin 18 With two parallel connecting rods 27, which are pivotably mounted on a support 26 attached to the basin 18 and on a wall-fixed support 28, the basin 18 can be removed from the building wall 19 can be folded away into the position shown in FIG. 1b.
- the controller 22 and the valve 21 are easily accessible for maintenance when the pool 18 is folded away from the side, from above and also from below.
- the basin 18 In order to be able to fold the basin 18 away from the building wall 19, the basin 18 only has to be released from the bolts 20. After maintenance, the basin 18 is folded back onto the building wall 19 and fixed with the bolts 20 and nuts, not shown here, or another suitable fastening device.
- the connector 24 leads in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1a and 1b via a siphon 12 to a drain pipe 17 of a drain pipe.
- the siphon 12 is tightly connected to the nozzle 24 and the drain bend 17.
- the siphon 12 has three elastically stretchable bends 2, 3 and 4. Between the bends 2, 3 and 4 straight and comparatively dimensionally stable areas 32-35 are arranged.
- the siphon 12 is in the use position in a vertical plane. If the basin 18 is folded away from the building wall, the siphon 12 is stretched and assumes the course shown in FIG. 1b. The two ends of the siphon 12 are still tightly connected to the nozzle 24 and the drain bend 17.
- the maintenance of the devices and fittings arranged behind the basin 18 is thus possible without the siphon 12 having to be removed and emptied. It is also essential that comparatively little storage space is required for the siphon 12 below and behind the nozzle 24 in the position of use.
- the bends 2, 3 and 4 each have several comparatively thin-walled beads 2a, 3a and 4a, between which areas 2b, 3b and 4b are arranged with greater wall thickness.
- the siphon 12 is made of an elastomeric plastic, preferably EPDM. After molding, it is preferably crosslinked in order to achieve high durability.
- connection according to the invention is also suitable for other sanitary articles, for example wash basins or wall-hung toilet bowls, which can be moved away from the building wall for maintenance.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drain connection according to the preamble of
Furthermore, a siphon on a urinal is known from the applicant's CH-A-666 504, which is connected to the drain line with a horizontally extending connecting pipe. So that the bowl does not have to be detached from the wall for cleaning and maintenance of the urinal, the siphon is connected to the bowl outlet with a detachable connector.
If such a urinal has other fittings and devices behind the basin, for example a presence control, such a basin must still be regularly removed from the wall for maintenance work.
In order to be able to carry out such maintenance or repair work more easily, EP-A-0 313 734 has disclosed a wall-hung urinal which has a two-part basin. An upper part of the pool is fixed to the wall and a lower part is detachably connected to the upper part. The lower part is removed to maintain the fittings and devices behind the basin. However, a two-part basin is usually not desired for various reasons.
Furthermore, DE-C-58 677 and WO-A-8 800 993 have disclosed connections for sanitary articles which are designed as bellows, as a flexible pipe or as a telescopic extension and allow the sanitary article to pivot to a certain extent. These connections are generally not suitable for standard wall-hung urinals and do not always guarantee a reliable siphon effect.
The invention has for its object to provide a drain connection of the type mentioned, which is particularly suitable for a urinal and which explains the moving away of the sanitary ware from the building wall for maintenance of the fittings and devices arranged behind the sanitary ware.
The object is achieved by the invention according to
The drain connection according to the invention allows the sanitary article to be completely moved away from the building wall without a part having to be loosened beforehand between the drain connector of the basin and the drain pipe. The invention thus enables the assembly of a one-piece sanitary article, which can be moved or folded away very easily from the building wall for maintenance of the devices and fittings arranged behind it. The sanitary article can thus be folded away from the building wall without first loosening the siphon and the fittings and devices arranged behind it are easily accessible from the side and from above. The sanitary article can be made in one piece from sanitary ware and its sub-area can also be made as usual, i.e. comparatively slim.
When the sanitary article is moved away, the siphon is stretched in the area of its bends. If the basin is pushed back onto the building wall after maintenance, the siphon automatically returns to its original state. This is particularly space-saving and inexpensive.
Further advantageous features result from the following description and the drawings. An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawings.
- 1a is a vertical section through a urinal attached to a building wall, with a connection according to the invention,
- Fig. 1b, a urinal according to Fig. 1a, wherein the pool has moved away from the building wall, and
- Fig. 1c shows a section through part of Fig. 1a, in an enlarged view.
The embodiment shown has a basin made of, for example, sanitary ceramics, which has a concealed
With two parallel connecting
The
The connection according to the invention is also suitable for other sanitary articles, for example wash basins or wall-hung toilet bowls, which can be moved away from the building wall for maintenance.
