Abstract

A nozzle for an atomizing device in a dishwashing machine comprises an upper part (19) with an atomizing opening (17), a lower part (14) penetrated through an opening in a wall a distribution channel in which liquid is distributed to a plurality of nozzles, and a resilient ring (20) having clamping surfaces against the bottom and the edges of the orifice. By making the openings in the form of slots (18) in several nozzles, and forming different angles v, different atomization directions are obtained. A fastening member (22) is provided between the upper part and the wall to maintain the nozzle in a predetermined atomization direction.

Description

A spray nozzle
The present invention is related to an improvement of spray nozzles in a dish washing machine in which dish goods pass nozzles which from a plurality of directions spray on the goods.
A nozzle stationarily fastened in the wall of a distribution channel or -box has a very restricted spraying area. In order to reach a spraying which is sufficiently all-round a great number of nozzles therefore must be used positioned in several spraying directions. Mounting a plurality of nozzles in a plane wall so that everyone gets an individual spraying direction is time-consuming and complicated, especially as also a good tightening between the nozzle and the wall should be maintained.
By the present invention it is presented a solution of the problem to make spraying nozzles providing both an individual direction and a simple, tightening mounting. In priorly known art it is common that the nozzle is screwed into a hole through the wall or into a nut on the backside of the wall. A simpler mounting is achieved by the object of the invention thanks to the fact that the nozzle is pressed into the hole through, the wall and locked by means of an expanding ring. The direction of the nozzle can then be fixed at the time of mounting and the locking of the position be carried out by means of a pin, a wedge or the like. The improvements here described appear on a nozzle produced in accordance with the characterizing cause of Claim 1.
A couple of exemplifying, embodiments of the invention are described in the following with references to the drawing which shows in Fig. 1 a straight nozzle in a vertical cross section Fig. 2 the same nozzle in a horizontal projection Fig. 3 an inclined nozzle in a vertical cross section
Fig. 4 the same nozzle in a horizontal section.
The nozzle according to Figs. 1 and 2 is constituted of two portions, a body 10 and an expanding ring 11. The nozzle is mounted in a hole 12 in a plate 13 constituting a wall of a distribution box or -channel. The body has a conical nipple 14 provided with a flange 15 at the lower end. The hole 16 in the nipple is semi-spherical in the top and ends in a fissure 17 formed by a V-shaped slot 18 across the wall of the upper portion 19 of the body. The outer surface of the expanding ring is provided with an annular groove 20, into which the edge of the hole 12 in the plate snaps in when the ring is assembled by pressing the same into the open hole. The ring made of soft plastics is conical like the nipple and expands when the body 10 is pressed into the ring so far that the flange 15 penetrates the whole ring and is locked thereunder by snap action. When the ring expands, the groove 20 is forced against the edge of the plate and makes thereby a good tightening between the nozzle and the plate.
The individual spraying direction mentioned in the introduction is obtained by manufacturing the nozzle in a way of inclining the V-shaped slot, for instance as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, and then assembling the body in such a way that the fissure is turned into the desired spraying direction. When several bodies 10 are provided with V-shaped slots with different inclination to the centre axis 21 of the hole 16 a series of nozzles for varying height of the spraying can be created, a greater angle v to the centre axis thereby causing a less height of the spraying. The body 10 can during the assembly be turned through 360° which means that all conceivable spraying directions in the semi-sphere above the plate 13 can be performed by such a series of nozzles. After that the spraying direction of every nozzle is determined the adjustment of the nozzle can be fixed by means of a knob 22 on a collar 23 of the body which knob projects into a hole 24 in the plate 13.

Claims

Claims
1. A spraying nozzle mounted in a hole in the wall of a distribution channel o -box for spraying liquid on dish goods which liquid is distributed in said channel o -box under pressure to the nozzle, characterized in that the portion o the nozzle penetrating the wall is in the shape of a nipple (14) and that an elasti ring (11) providing tightening surfaces against the nipple and the edges of the hol (12) is pressed between the nipple and this edge.
2. A spraying nozzle according to Claim 1, characterized in that th orifice of the nipple outside the wall is made in the shape of a slot (17) which i perpendicular to the centre axis (21) of the nipple and has a symmetrical pla creating an angle v > 0 to said axis.
3. A spraying nozzle according to Claim 2, characterized in that th cross section of the slot is V-shaped.
