Abstract

An electrical radiant heating unit for a glass ceramic hotplate is constructed on a plate 20 which consists of a temperature-resistance insulation material and is arranged in a supporting bowl 13. A thermal resistance 21 is attached to the plate 20 and around the plate there is a ring 19 the surface of which lies against the underside of the glass ceramic plate 11, where the ring 19 determines the height of the space 33 which is created between the plate 20 and the glass ceramic plate 11 and where the underside of the ring for essentially all its circumference lies against the plate 20. The ring 19 is controlled by the projecting rim of the supporting bowl and itself projects above the upper surface of this rim. In order to create several hot areas or hotplates within the same supporting bowl 13, insulation with several bowl- shaped spaces is arranged in the supporting bowl 13 with each space surrounded by its own ring 19 which limits a heating area in a cooker with several heating units. <IMAGE>
