Die Neuerung betrifft ein Gummiband, insbesondere zur Befestigung von Müllbeuteln auf dem Öffnungsrand eines Mülleimers .The innovation concerns a rubber band, in particular for fastening garbage bags to the opening edge of a garbage can.

In Mülleimer und Papierkörbe werden oft Müllbeutel eingelegt oder eingehängt. Sie haben jedoch meistens keine Einrichtungen, um die Müllbeutel auf dem Öffnungsrand zu halten, so daß diese während des Gebrauchs in den Mülleimer hineinrutschen und zusammenfallen. Wegen dieser äußeren Vorsprünge und der zum Aufsetzen eines in sich geschlossenen Gummiringes notwendigen Handgriffe sowie schließlich auch wegen der verhältnismäßig kurzen Umfangslänge und der geringen Materialstärke der verfügbaren Ringe werden diese bei der hier in Frage kommenden Anwendung regelmäßig überdehnt, und wenn sie dabei reißen, ist dies schmerzhaft.Garbage bags are often placed or hung in garbage cans and wastepaper baskets.
