Es ist deshalb schon vorgeschlagen worden, das Ausfallen der basischen Salze beim Eindampfen von essigsauren Tonerdelösungen durch Zusatz von Milch- oder Weinsäure zu verhindern. Dadurch gelingt es zwar, den Eindampfungsrückstand in wasserlöslicher Form zu gewinnen, jedoch besteht derselbe dann nur zu einem geringen Teil aus Aluminiumacetat.
