Bei ei ner beispielhaften Entsorgung durch Verbrennen der Flüs sigkeit können z. B. hochgiftige und beständige Dioxine entstehen. Außerdem sind diese Flüssigkeiten in vielen Fällen nicht für bestimmte anspruchsvolle elektrische An wendungen geeignet. Poly-α-olefine haben sogar in ihrer derzeit niedrigviskosesten Fraktion eine noch zu hohe störende kinematische Viskosität bei tiefen Temperaturen, einen nachteilig zu hoch liegenden Fließ- bzw. Stockpunkt und zu niedrige Flamm-, Brenn- und Selbstentzündungstemperaturen.
