Abstract

The object of the invention is to improve the activity and the shelf life of pyrethrin in the form of an insecticide spray by means of biological synergists and improved formulation. An insecticide spray formulation was described which is characterised in that it is composed of a mixture of pyrethrin extract, piperonyl butoxide and a mixture of oil of turpentine, lavender oil and citronella oil. The oily components are emulsified to give an aqueous, clear emulsion, and the pH is brought to 3.0 to 5.0. Such an insecticide formulation is readily biodegradable, not toxic to warm-blood species, has a long shelf life and is highly active against insects, as has been shown by field trials.
