Description

Device for tempering and the like of workpieces, in particular Small parts The invention relates to a method for hardening, tempering and the like. of workpieces, especially small parts, such. B. razor blades, small parts of Measuring instruments (dial gauge probes), saw blades, parts of typewriters, small gears, small tools, rulers, folding tools, small cutting tools and the like

As a heat source when hardening such small parts are so far in Mainly used: Electrically heated furnaces, chamber furnaces with closed annealing frames, Chamber furnaces with an open annealing frame, salt bath crucible furnaces and lead baths.

The decisive factor is the respective material and who:; - piece adjusted temperature. When hardening different parts, the temperature must therefore each time to be set again. This is the case with the above conventional 1-liter heat sources a lengthy process.

The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a method for hardening, tempering and the like, in which a rapid and precise temperature setting is ensured. To solve the problem, it is proposed according to the invention that the workpieces by means of optical imaging of a e.g. F3. electrical radiation source are heated in a working focal point, which radiation source lies within a mirror carriage, and then the workpieces are quenched in a manner known per se. The temperature generated by such an optical device can be varied in a simple manner by changing the Radiation source feeding electricity Spane "beinpie3.s- wise through a: continuously adjustable series resistor to d. Such optical devices are made up of yours ellipsoid- shaped mirror chamber, in whose central focal point the radiation source is installed. That to earth WerkstUek is then in the second, the zo Senam t en work focal point, arranged which In usually outside the combustion chamber. The application of the invention proves to be particularly advantageous proper procedure for so-called air hardeners or polished parts that have to be heated under protective gas: The concentrated effect of the heat on the workpiece source takes place chews a warming of the workpiece surrounding- the gas medium, so that this immediately after shutdown the heat source can serve to deter the workpiece.
