Referring to fig. 1 to 9, an electrical connector module for electrically connecting to a mating circuit board (not shown) is disclosed. The electrical connector module comprises a base 1, a terminal assembly 2 combined with the base 1 and a cable 3. The terminal assembly 2 includes an insulating member 21 and a plurality of conductive terminals 22 combined with the insulating member 21. In the present application, the insulating member 21 is provided in two and spaced side by side. Each of the insulating members 21 is combined with a row of conductive terminals 22 formed by a plurality of the conductive terminals 22.
Referring to fig. 5 and 6, each of the conductive terminals 22 includes a terminal fixing portion 221 fixed in the insulating member 21, a terminal connection portion 222 extending from one end of the terminal fixing portion 221 and exposing the insulating member 21 and the base 1, and a terminal abutting portion 223 extending from the other end of the terminal fixing portion 221 and exposing the insulating member 21 and the base 1, and the cable 3 is electrically connected to the terminal connection portion 222 of each of the conductive terminals 22.
In the present application, each of the terminal fixing portions 221 extends in a long strip shape along a thickness direction of the opposing circuit board. The terminal wiring portion 222 is formed by bending an end of the terminal fixing portion 221 away from the mating circuit board at ninety degrees. The terminal mating portion 223 is formed by extending one end of the terminal fixing portion 221 adjacent to a mating circuit board. The extending direction of the terminal butt joint part 223 and the thickness direction of the butt joint circuit board form a certain included angle, an obtuse angle is formed between the terminal butt joint part 223 and the terminal fixing part 221, and the terminal butt joint part 223 is of a cantilever-shaped structure and can elastically deform in the thickness direction of the butt joint circuit board. When the electrical connector module is assembled to the mating circuit board, the terminal mating portion 223 is elastically pressed against the surface of the mating circuit board to achieve electrical connection.
Referring to fig. 7 in combination with fig. 3, the conductive terminal 22 includes a plurality of pairs of signal terminals 201 and a plurality of ground terminals 202. At least one pair of the signal terminals 201 is provided with one ground terminal 202 on each of two sides. The electrical connector module further comprises a serial connection piece 4, wherein the serial connection piece 4 electrically connects two ground terminals 202 positioned on two sides of the pair of signal terminals 201.
Referring to fig. 3 to 7, a receiving groove 10 is formed through the base 1 along a thickness direction of the butt circuit board, and each terminal assembly 2 is correspondingly combined in the receiving groove 10. The insulating member 21 has a front end surface 211 perpendicular to the mating circuit board and a rear end surface 212 opposite to the front end surface 211, the front end surface 211 is recessed inward to form an air groove 20, the terminal fixing portions 221 of at least one pair of the signal terminals 201 and the terminal fixing portions 221 of at least two of the ground terminals 202 located on both sides of the at least one pair of the signal terminals 201 are exposed to the air groove 20, and the serial connector 4 is coupled to the air groove 20. Referring to fig. 4 in combination with fig. 7, the air groove 20 of the insulating member 21 extends from one of the ground terminals 202 at one end of the row of the conductive terminals 22 to one of the ground terminals 202 at the other end, so that the air groove 20 is designed to be used for material breaking (material breaking between adjacent conductive terminals 22) after the row of the conductive terminals 22 and the insulating member 21 are integrally formed, and the air groove 20 has an effect of adjusting impedance.
Referring to fig. 3 to 7, the rear end surface 212 of the insulating member 21 is recessed inward to form a receiving cavity 200, at least a portion of each of the conductive terminals 22 is exposed to the receiving cavity 200, the electrical connector module further includes an insulating filler 6, and the insulating filler 6 is assembled and sealed to be fixed in the receiving cavity 200. The receiving groove 200 is also used for breaking the row of conductive terminals 22 and the insulating member 21 after being integrally formed (between adjacent conductive terminals 22), and the insulating filling member 6 is used for adjusting impedance.
In the present application, the serial-connection piece 4 incorporated in the air groove 20 is formed by punching and bending a metal sheet. The serial connector 4 located in the air slot 20 is formed with an n-shaped main body 41, and two free legs of the main body 41 extend along the arrangement direction of the conductive terminals 21 to form wing portions 411 electrically connected to the corresponding ground terminals 202. The arrangement of the serial connection element 4 can enable the adjacent ground terminals 202 to form lap joints on the extending paths thereof, so as to achieve a better grounding effect, and simultaneously can ensure that the ground terminals 202 synchronously achieve zero potential. In this application, the extension length of the n-shaped main body 41 in the thickness direction of the butt-joint circuit board is not less than half of the extension length of the terminal fixing portion 221 in the thickness direction of the butt-joint circuit board, so that the adjacent ground terminals 202 are in surface contact and in dense contact as much as possible, and better grounding and synchronous zero potential effects are achieved. During assembly, the string member 4 is combined with the terminal assembly 2 and then inserted into the accommodating groove 10 from bottom to top (i.e. along the direction away from the circuit board), and the string member 4 is exposed from one side surface of the electric connector module abutting against the butt circuit board.
In this application, at least one row the conductive terminal 22 includes a plurality of pairs the signal terminal 201, a plurality of pairs the signal terminal 201 is by a plurality of pairs of high speed signal terminal 2011 and a plurality of pairs of non-high speed signal terminal 2012 are constituteed. One of the ground terminals 202 is disposed on each of both sides of each pair of the signal terminals 201, and the serial connection member 4 electrically connects the two ground terminals 202 located on both sides of the pair of the high-speed signal terminals 2011. In this application, it is preferable that the ground terminals 202 on both sides of at least each pair of the high-speed signal terminals 2011 are electrically connected by the serial connection 4. Furthermore, the serial connection member 4 is provided in plural, and in other embodiments, the partial positions of the serial connection members 4 on the same terminal assembly 2 may be integrally connected.
